No need to thin it, it goes through an airbrush just fine. You can apply with normal brush too. There's a video tutorial on the Humbrol website. I then use GW Lahmian Medium to matte coat, again no need to thin, just make sure you give it a shake.

Really hoping the weather is okay at some point to spray this damned Deredeo or I'm going to fail my vow ¬¬

I suppose I could always... Brush prime it *shudder*

Stick the heating on and find somewhere suitable indoors?

White walls everywhere, if I got any spray on anything I'd get killed I think :P Maybe I'll make a box or something though... Watch this space.

Lahmian Medium remains one of the finest thing GW has produced in recent years

Worked on some more Sanguinary Guard. Crappy cell phone picture and the bases still need work:

How do you do your swords like that?

I'm trying to attempt to do red swords in that same way, but this was the best I could do for that (experimental, I totally should have found a tutorial)

Also, my second guy (not the one in the pic) that I did the gold on didn't come out so great today, but fortunately I'm not done with him yet.

Also, please excuse my messy painting set :(

It's simply a gradient with an airbrush. Start with white, then spray a light blue in the middle and a dark blue at the end. For the best effect then you mask off one part and do the same process but reversed to the other side.

But masking off a curved blade neatly is a bother, and because the encarmine weapons are all differently shaped, I didn't bother doing it here. For an example of how that looks, check out my Grey Knights in my signature. Their only curved blades are the halberds, where I could just make a template from a spare halberd to get the correct curve.

If you are using a white undercoat it wont be a problem :P

I have grown very fond of my airbrush for that. I live in a apartment so i lack decent outdoor spraying options.
