cyborgcommunist
I'm assembling a box of Grey Knight Strike squad and I really wanted to have the Daemon Hammer wielding guys have different poses. The Strike squad has always irked me a bit as all the two-handed grips are stuck in 1 pose. So I thought I'd have one of them swing his hammer overhead to mash some daemon's skull in, kinda like the Astorath the Grim model. Any ideas on how to do it or tips for reposing arms? Thanks! Grotsmasha
Marine arms aren't long enough to achieve that pose without hitting themselves in the forehead. My recommendation is to complete it in the following order. 1. You will need to bent arms, two ccw hands, some blutac, a fine-tip marker (or your finest brush and some .5mm and 1mm plasticard. 2. Take your arms and cut off the hands (if they're attached) leaving the cuff on the arm. 3. Add a 1mm spacer to the arm at the shoulder end, and a .5mm spacer to the cuff. Using a sharp knife cut them to the existing shape of the arm. 4. a] Alternatively to Blutac, you could drill and pin the pieces. Then bend them into the desired position. b] Using the blutac, try to achieve the pose you want, it may be necessary to alter the thickness' of the spacers. Once you pose has been achieved, mark the pieces with pen/paint so you remember the angles of each piece when you begin gluing. 5. Build and glue the hands and axe first, working down the arms to the shoulders, ensure the shoulders fit the torso. Jobs, a good'un :tu: Cheers, Jono Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297351-arms-overhead-marine-posing/#findComment-3820522 Share on other sites

Brother-Chaplain Kage
Aside from the problem Grot mentions about the length of the arms, it looks really awkward when the shoulder pads are upside down. appiah4
There are some models you could buy and convert for the purpose; there is the Games Day limited captain with thunder hammer, there is the old Chaplain Xavier model, there's Seth and Astaroth in overhead poses, the thunderhammer from the Blood Angels Death Company kit could come in handy.. Maybe not fully overhead but just the hammer dawn back over a shoulder. There are some models you could buy and convert for the purpose; there is the Games Day limited captain with thunder hammer, there is the old Chaplain Xavier model, there's Seth and Astaroth in overhead poses, the thunderhammer from the Blood Angels Death Company kit could come in handy.. I've got no lack of Daemonhammers. But the Games Day Captain and Seth both seem to have the ideal pose Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297351-arms-overhead-marine-posing/#findComment-3820700 Share on other sites

Chaeron
You could also perhaps consider the pintle operator arms from the SM/CSM Rhino kits - with a small amount of work and positioning, you might be able to get those to go over a model's head?
