Space wolf vow

Recommended Posts

I've owned around 4 boxes of termie wolves, a Dark vengeance box and  4 space wolf grey hunters and blood claw toghether with a army box of dwarves and chaos space marine for over  2 and a half year now...

I've had a few things pop up in my life which always...stopped me from finishing my army.
but drama spoiler i'm not gonna post that here unless anyone wants to know,...let's just keep it at...alot of bad stuff happened which postponed my wolves for 2 years.
i'm not here to drama, i'm here to make war: p
I have to add though that I've taken alot of good steps in life 2013-2014 and that 2014 has been an awesom year to me, so i got loads of energy again

i HAVE been following this forum ever since. I bought my first mini.

and I vow now to finish a 1500 points space wolves CRAZY AGRESSIVE I'M GONNA MURDER YOU WITH MY AXE IN UR SKULL battleforce before I become  26 on 1st of february 2015. and I will post pics, keep updates, etc. because I need your opinions guys. I am way to... jumpy going from one idea to another and I need some solid backup to keep me going for a turn 1 wipe the board strat.

All I need is info and support...And I will make the most aggresive crazy list you have ever seen (cause I love being the well...fist person to strike with melee as my favorite way of attacks: p)

I vow alot here now btw, but i promise I'll do my best ( though I don't think 1500 points is alot to some people here :p...)

P.S I just had a drink...so I'm a bit...in of a saga telling mead and meat mood, but this has been on my mind for while and I intend to do this.

Gengar, welcome back.

It is always good to hear of someone like yourself being positive after having a really hard time in their lives and I hope that the vow works out for you. We'll do our best to keep you motivated

I am not sure how to do a crazy aggressive in your face with a skull type army, as I have a bit of almost everything.

Mixing the dwarf weapons into your Wolves will look really cool though..

Yup , I'm taking things step by step. Atm I've had a test mini or 2 on colours, and I've set up all my paint and station next to my laptop, also organized all my bits in different boxes, now i'm up to making a list...which i'm close to actually finishing, just doing a few more theorycrafts

i'm going for a battleworn look, where like the red paint and black paint fades away cause of battle damage and dirt

Gengar what paints are you using to paint your miniatures. I am not being rude here but I would advice you to thin your paint down a bit more when you get started on the real deal. I like the over all colors you are using but if you thin them a bit you might be able to get better battle damage looks. Also a quick tip on battle damage and effects use a black wash to darken the joins and shade the lines. You can also do a bit of a brown wash in the lower section to simulate dust. I do not know what your skill level as a painter is but does are simple tips anyone new to the hobby could do.

My skill level is pretty much beginner, I use a combination of army painter, citadal paints and Vallejo, I try to mostly thing down my paints but i'm not really good at that yet + i need to get new paints cause most of it, after opening it again after 2 years is pretty much dried up

It also doesn't help that I have an extremely acurate camera: p in small it's alot less clunky then in this pic

This is what I've been playing with today, kitbashing my dark vengeance biker into my first runepriest biker;

Still need to greenstuff a few jonits up and give him a ponytail  and greenstuff that clothing in clothing + fur

Whadja think of him?

That Rune Priest will look sweet when he is finished...

That is a nice colour scheme you have there. I am assuming that this is the colours you are going for? And for a beginner you have done a really good job, I was not that good when I first got started, so stick at it, they will look great

I have to second Lednara on the paint sde of things. If you have an old ceramic plate or something you can use as a pallette, pop the pint on ther and add a drop or 2 of water. It will seriously make a whole world of a difference.

Washes rock! Get soem agrax earthshade or black and see what a difference it can make to a model

This is test subject Jimmy, with a base coat and wash od agrax earthshade.

And this is how it looks with a quick drybrush, which leaves the model with a nice colour but still looking battleworn and grimy...

I am not  trying to tell you  that your painting style is wrong, because we all paint in our own way, and like I said yor model looks really good.

As for the gunky paints. If you can get some lahmian medium or equivalent sometime a few drops of that can bring your paints back to life too.

A very promising start, I'll be keeping an eye on you :)

From Harald Deathwolf's company, Wolf Guard Battle Leader Fen Coalmane supports you brother!
There's nothing better than a succesful assault and your opponent's face when your terminators survive EVERYTHING and your Cavalry slices EVERYTHING

I also started converting some DV marines into GH, i've often noted that cutting the "plume" from a standart GH helm and pasting it on the DV marine makes him look a lot more wolfy
