Inquisition vehicles

I'm finishing off my Inquisitorial army and getting round to painting the vehicles but want some advice on colours. I see the Inquisition just marching up to Imperial outposts and saying "We'll have 2 Chimeras, a Land raider and that valkyrie please" rather than a fleet of vehicles and therefore would have vehicles in IG, Imp Navy, etc colours, does that make sense or do they actually have all the vehiucles to hand in a standard paint job?

The Inquisition can do what it likes, so your vehicles can reflect that Maybe they can't be bothered to repaint them or want to pass as normal Guard units? Or maybe your Inquisitor would rather everyone knows he's coming and paints big =][= symbols on the vehicles or even repaints them completely?

Nothing says "Inquisition" quite like black vehicles with giant white =][= symbols on, as that's the classic Inquisition colour scheme :)

I'd go down the 'inducted locals' route personally. Most Inquisitors don't travel in the company of the Formosan Militia.

I'd just echo what others have said -- it's pretty much up to you.

 

Fluff-wise, it depends on whether your particular inquisitor is a Coteaz-type who keeps permanent militia/retinues, or whether he's inducting troops for his purposes. Then it depends on what he's using them for, and how quickly after induction they are rushed into battle. In the real world vehicles will get repainted when they are deployed in different warzones, so if they have a few days between induction and combat there's no reason they couldn't be re-painted (if the inquisitor wanted them repainted).

 

Comes down to your and your inquisitor's style.
