Night Lords 2500k Orbital Assault

Trying to somewhat get a more steady list for my Night Lords. I am thinking about retasking my heavy tanks into either a Salamanders or Alpha Legion force as I like both of their paint schemes. In that train of thought I am leaning towards drop pod assault and aircraft for my NL.

Night Lords 2.5k

Praetor- Cataphract armor, paragon, digital weapons. ROW: Orbital Assault

Terminators- Cataphract- 5 power fists, one plasma blaster, 4 combi plasma

    -These guys have served me well. Most of my opponents are 40k marine players and in the past these guys have held their own and last game took out Death Knights and a squad of Deathwing termies.

 

Mortis Contemptor- 2 kheres assault cannon, Dreadclaw drop pod

   -Love the model, on paper he is pretty nasty, in multiple games he has never even been glanced, but his output is typically bad based on sheer luck. I keep him around just because. Intercept fire is pretty nice on turn one since I start him on the board and his drop pod in reserve.

 

Terror Squad- x10, chargers, melta bomb, Drop pod

   -Havent used them within the confines of this list. They are replacing a Volkite Culverin heavy support squad to add a little more mobility to the list. The Culverins were nasty and usually paid for themselves but I guess we will see. I have a spare HS slot if I need it.

 

Tac squad x10 melta bomb, combi melta, drop pod

   -obviously my compulsory squads. I don't knock them, they do a fairly good job when they are given one. Last game one finished off a deathwing term squad in close combat, and the other's squad leader melta'd an enemy drop pod in my deployment zone and overwatch threw a meltabomb and destroyed a charging enemy dreadnought thus denying linebreaker.

 

Tac Support x5 flamers, drop pod

  - A very cheap and very effective squad, especially against other deep strikers. They single handidly fried a five man Deathwing squad in one round of fire last game.

Tac Support x5 meltaguns, drop pod

Tac Support x5 Plasmaguns, drop pod

  -They tend to kill themselves but are invaluable vs TEQ squads and armies.

 

Fire Raptor- autocannon turrets,

Lightning 2x TL Autocannons, 1x 2 Kraken missiles

  -I love this thing, its a beast vs pretty much everything.

 

I still have a few points left I think. As I was typing this I remembered I had forgotten to include the Dreadclaw's price and had to drop a Deathstorm I had.
