Interesting conversion ideas

Im trying to think up something both unique and cool to add to my army to give it a distinct flavour

 

im tossing up some ideas

 

Horse calvary marines- inleu of bikers

 

hoverboard marines- inleu of bikers

 

converting a modern tank to say t-80 to a predator

 

does anyone else have any cool ideas there willing to share

 

also does anyone have any cool themes, im looking for a theme ive been dabling with something celtic or franks or something but i cant decide

I once tried to do a guard armoured fist squad as a spec ops unit. With half crouched poses and super shortened lasguns to try and resemble mp5s. I couldn't make it work though.

Which Chapter is this for? Horse Cavalry would suit White Scars rather than Ultramarines for example. If you do decide on a Tank conversion idea, consider entering it in my current Challenge, Treadheads and Flyboys, he more the merrier.

 

One idea I've got on a slow burner (yes, work has started), is rewriting the Chaos Daemons codex for use as a (beware WIP title) Imperial Angels Codex. basically all of the entries are replaced with Imperial counterparts, all stats and special rules effects remain unchanged, but wording and perspective change. The best example is Bloodletters on Juggernaughts, on the table they would be represented by Thunderwolf Cavalry, Deamon Princes by Primarchs.

 

Yeah, big project, I know, but I'm enjoying the challenge so far.
