Jochteas
Just two questions that's come up I'd figure I'd ask. My First question is in relation to my Iron Priest I'm working on. I got a Tech Marine model with multiple arms (I like the look better) and was thinking of how to modify him, and I was wondering, the lower left arm (as you look strait ahead at him) has some sort of weird gun that an IP doesn't really use. I was thinking maybe of cutting that off and attaching his Bolt Gun to this arm. My idea is looks wise he might be wielding a Thunder hammer in one hand, and have his other hand free while his bolt gun is being wielded by one of the arms. But I was wondering if this would cause a problem on the game table since it would be the mechanic bit holding the gun and not him. Second question is I was thinking of ordering some Fur cloaks from Maxmini gaming for my Grey hunters and was wondering if anyone here had any experience with them and would recommend them/warn against them or have any other advice on where to get nifty appropriate looking cloaks. Frater Cornelius
While I have never tried the cloaks, I can imagine they cost quite a bit. Green Stuff offers better result for less money in my experislence, if you knoe how to model fur (which really isn't that hard). As for the IP. Who cares. Hammer? Check! Pistol? Check! Servo Arm? Check! Wolves? Check! Murmaider! Murmaider! Murmaider! ... sorry :D In the end it does not matter where what is as long as it is there. Sometimes I model my Pistols in holstered mode. You could even stick it up your wolf's rear and claim that it is there ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297675-two-space-wolves-modeling-questions/#findComment-3827106 Share on other sites
Vykryl
Havent tried the cloaks your adking about. I did buy some cloaks and loincloths from Anvil Industries a few months ago that I like. http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/Exo-Lords/Cloaks-and-Loincloths I think there's a model in my gallery with a loincloth. One model had a cloak but he has been stripped of paint and pic deleted. The cloaks fit good under his Kromlech Sons of Thor back pack. I used TWC torsos for my PAWG, they don't fit as tight on standing legs, the loincloth tucked into and hid the gap nicely. Kromlech has nice looking back packs, shoulder pads and fur cloaks for Space Wolves power armor. Also like their cyclone missile launchers. Skeletoro has a pic in his thread showing a model using the shoulder pads. My wip thread has the back pack and CML. With the Iron Priest, as long as he has his listed gear he should be good. Edit: sons of Thor cloaks http://bitsofwar.com/home/74-sons-of-thor-fur-cloacks-backpacks.html Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297675-two-space-wolves-modeling-questions/#findComment-3827116 Share on other sites
Rift Blade
There have been several discussions/threads on alternate bits over the last while here & the general consensus is that the bits you are looking at would work well for you. As for the modelling question, he's your model, have fun. I have tried the Sons of Thor backpacks and I disliked them. Vykryl
I bought 10 plain back packs and a cml from Kromlech http://bitsofwar.com/home/109-zephyr-missile-launcher.html I didn't want everyone to have a cloak. As I'm tweaking my force and slowly painting, no one has a cloak at moment. When my Wolf Lord's sword shows up I'll post an unpainted pic to show the how the Anvil Cloak looks. Shameless plug of my Wolf Guard with Kromlech CML Sons of Thor back pack, not the best paint job I prefer the look of the Anvil Industry cloaks, can always green stuff more fur on if desired. Some of the SoT packs weren't the best castings Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297675-two-space-wolves-modeling-questions/#findComment-3827343 Share on other sites
Frater Cornelius
Solid colour scheme. I like it. Needs more trophies though, and furs. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297675-two-space-wolves-modeling-questions/#findComment-3827352 Share on other sites
Vykryl
Solid colour scheme. I like it. FenrisWolf
Cool. Higher rank means less inclination to brag! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297675-two-space-wolves-modeling-questions/#findComment-3827420 Share on other sites
Vykryl
Cool. Higher rank means less inclination to brag! Or too many trophies to carry at once. I use TWC torsos and shoulder pads, wolf helm heads, Sons of Thor back packs and Anvil Industries fur loincloths to make my pack leaders. Only have 4 made at moment Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297675-two-space-wolves-modeling-questions/#findComment-3827425 Share on other sites
Frater Cornelius
Wulfrik the Wanderer (a WHFB Chaos Hero) is a perfect example of that. There is more trophies than the actual person carrying them :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297675-two-space-wolves-modeling-questions/#findComment-3827444 Share on other sites
Jochteas
Vykryl, if you could kinda fit one of the cloaks behind the sons of Thor pack just so I could see it and take a snap shot I would be ever so eternally grateful and owe you 1 beer. FenrisWolf
I like the idea of WG and Pack Leaders giving the vibe, "I'm so bad ass I don't need to prove it to you." Jochteas
I'd feel its less of "I don't need to prove it too you" and more like "My trophies don't fit here anymore" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297675-two-space-wolves-modeling-questions/#findComment-3827832 Share on other sites

Vykryl
First a front shot, for some reason this model doesn't please me and I don't know why I tried to get a pic of each cloak. Unfortunately one pic came out fuzzy and I don't feel like looking digging the cloaks back out of the bits box. Kromlech Sons of Thor back pack over 4 out of 5 Anvil Industries Fur Cloaks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297675-two-space-wolves-modeling-questions/#findComment-3827980 Share on other sites
Frater Cornelius
The biggest downfall of those cloaks is that they do not fit on a mounted model unless you know how to reshape resin without breaking it. skeletoro
Hot water works but some resin can still easily snap if you're not careful. And making tight bends is a lot harder. I'd probably do it fully prepared to see breakage and patch up with green stuff if necessary. Frater Cornelius
I'd rather use Green Stuff to begin with, thanks very much ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297675-two-space-wolves-modeling-questions/#findComment-3828133 Share on other sites
Rift Blade
Changing the shape of cloaks for TW using hot water is not difficult as you don't have to change it a lot in most cases. THe rider is usually leaning forward so the amount of you need to change the cloak is not that bad. The key is take it slow & be ready to do it multiple times to get what you want. By the way, thanks a lot Vykryl for posting the CML. I've always wanted to see one on a TDA but never got around to looking it up on the net. I'll have to order one or 2 of those. Vykryl
I bought that CML because I liked the two sizes of missiles in the racks. Actually looks like he is packing multiple missile types. Never thought to bend the resin capes for a TWC model, may try it someday Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297675-two-space-wolves-modeling-questions/#findComment-3828429 Share on other sites
