Slips
YOU MEAN WE MIGHT SEE TEMPLAR BRETHREN / PHALANX WARDERS / SIGISMUND /ALEXIS POLUX / DORN !?!?!?! Hopefully the BT subforum doesn't get wind of this If thats the case, I'm curious to see how they'll model Raven Guard Mor Deythan and Dark Furies, especially with how they did the Contemptor. Komrk
Please no more stupid tattoos... I want Raven Guard not Space Sharks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297724-solar-auxilia-at-warhammer-fest/page/2/#findComment-3828695 Share on other sites
Fire Golem
I reckon the Mor Deythan might be an upgrade kit ala Terror Squad Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297724-solar-auxilia-at-warhammer-fest/page/2/#findComment-3828698 Share on other sites
Komrk
I'd rather have Dark Furies be an upgrade kit rather than Mor Deythan because the Mor Deythan are pretty much Recon Marines but Recon Marines have limited customization without excessive work. Dark Furies on the other hand are Assault Marines w/ Lightning Claws Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297724-solar-auxilia-at-warhammer-fest/page/2/#findComment-3828705 Share on other sites
Fire Golem
Well yeah I guess they could do it that way. I was just thinking because the NL jump pack troops were a proper kit and the foot troops were an upgrade so I just assumed it would be like that, but I don't see why it won't be the other way round. CoffeeGrunt
Man those Auxilia are pretty, and pretty expensive, as Forge World is wont to do. That said, am I the only person that's noticed the Basilisk and Medusa here are mounted on the Leman Russ chassis rather than the Chimera one? I swear, if these are AV14 artillery tanks, then my love for Forge World will explode between this and the new Y'varha Battlesuit! Slips
While expensive, the Solar Auxilia (if I didn't misinterpret this) is 20 models for 68 Pounds. Rather good, imo, considering other things they sell. Fire Golem
Yeah pretty sure that's right. I thought it was £68 for 5 for a second when I first saw it! I swear my heart skipped a beat. Komrk
Yeah, only $5.64 per model. Not sure how that compares to other FW Infantry, never done the math Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297724-solar-auxilia-at-warhammer-fest/page/2/#findComment-3828869 Share on other sites
Slips
well, consider a fully kitted out Legion Specific 10 man Tac Squad is : 23.50 x2 + 23 for 10 Chests + 9.50 for shoulders + 11.50 for heads + 11.50 for Bolters.... ...Yeah Space Marines are alot pricier than Solar Auxilia... Remove the Legion Specific Stuff and it drops by a pretty significant margin. Hyaenidae
At the same time, you can absorb some of the blow on your wallet by supplementing 40k stuff into your Legion army. With the Auxilia, you're pretty much on your own. ...not that it's gonna stop me from getting 40 infantry and a pair of Dracosans, along with the gunners.... :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297724-solar-auxilia-at-warhammer-fest/page/2/#findComment-3828893 Share on other sites
Slips
Part of the Ship. Part of the Crew.Part of the Ship. Part of the Crew.Part of the Ship. Part of the Crew.Part of the Ship. Part of the Crew.Part of the Ship. Part of the Crew.Part of the Ship. Part of the Crew.Part of the Ship. Part of the Crew. Personally, might not get any. Display case is pretty much full right now and with the amount Eldar & Deldar Filthy Xenos + 40k SM + 30k Legions (about 5-6 total) + Custodes....yeah I'll probably need at least 2 more by the time I'm done. That being said, if the rules are more than just "Guardsmen with Volkites" I might consider a very small (as small as 30k can be ) force for when I'm not in the Power Armor Mood. CoffeeGrunt
Forge World Elysians and Death Korps are around the same price, so for FW Guard, they're not too bad, but I wouldn't exactly use them for my Conscript blobs. :P They're good for using as Scions and a little bit cheaper too, though.
