Dorns Templar
Hi everyone. Earlier this year I started an Imperial Fist army, and i'd like to share my progress with you. After painting about 1500 pts, I bought an airbrush to do my vehicles as I had differing results using my normal painting method. I don't want to go back and re-paint, as i'm happy with what I had already done. Thanks for looking. Inquisitor Kravin
Beautiful! An army to be proud of. The weathering and damage is nice.Do you have a particular setting in mind for them? Are they intended to represent any particular force we've seen in the Heresy literature so far e.g. Pollux's survivors from Phall or Rahm's company? One-eye
Awesome army. The tanks especially strike me, they're perfectly painted and weathered. The DG contemptors fit perfectly the IF style (I think they're the "base" contemptor to chose from for any legion which hasn't its own yet). What will come next ? Dorns Templar
Thank you for the encouraging words everyone. I don't have a master plan yet. The idea was to cover some basic options, then I got giddy when FW released the Falchion. As for the yellow, the MkIV guys and the Contemptors are painted over a white undercoat with thin layers of GW Yriel yellow, and then a little Flash Gitz yellow. The tanks and terminators are undercoated grey, then I airbrushed VMA white onto add a highlight. VMA Dark Yellow from below, VMA Golden Yellow everywhere else. Oil wash with Burnt Umber or Van Dyke Brown. The DG Contemptors are by far my favourite, and they do fit the IF really well. Just finished some converted Cataphractii Hammernators yesterday which have been on my desk for 2 months! I'll post a picture later today if I can. Dorns Templar
Once again, thank you for your comments, and I am morre than pleased if I inspire some of you. So, as I said earlier, here's my converted Cataphractii with thunder hammers and storm shields. These were taken from Salamander Firedrakes. I filed off all of the amazing detail, and cut off the Firedrakes right gauntlet, which has the storm shield mount, and attatched them to standard Cataphractii arms. After all this, I hope FW don't release any soon!
