So I am Having a bit of a Dilemma...

I recently started playing again after a decade since i last owned any Warhammer. 

I've played 2 games so far and I've loved re-learning the game etc. 

But there is one thing I'm really struggling with and that is building lists that can go in a more competitive direction as at my LFGS wednesday nights is the main night and everyone plays very competitive lists, even against new comes such as myself. 

The main aspect i love about the hobby is the painting and forever improving, but I'm struggling to build lists. 

Acquiring models is not a problem to me but this is what I've acquired so far, which most people might find outlandish for a new player to own. 

 

1 Logan Grimnar (with option to be on storm rider or not)

1 Arjac

1 Njall

1 Rune Priest

1 Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf

15 terminators, 10 of which are magnetized with all weapons magnetized for changing when i need, 2 with assault, 2 with CML 1 WGTL Power sword storm bolter.

21 Grey hunters, 4 of which are Plasma Guns the 1 additional being banner for when needed. 

15 blood claws.

3 TWC all SS and TH

2 Dreads both left interchangeable

2 Drop Pods

2 Rhino/Razorbbacks

2 LR Crusaders

1 Storm Wolf

 

I also intend on acquiring a second warriors of the fang box to make 10 more GH, 10 Long Fangs and 10 Skyclaws, using the left over bits which were ignore. 

 

Now utilising all this at my desposal, can anyone provide me with as much insight into building atleast a semi-competitive 2000point list.

The Main structure i had in my head was an armored list going As follows this will be with 0 upgrades and points values as most people on here will know them already

 

HQ: 

 

Njall - using his standard kit

 

Elites:

 

2x 5x WGT w/ WGTPL, Heavy Flamer, 4 SB 2 PF 2SS , Land Raider Crusader Dedicated Transport

 

Troops:

 

2x 10 GH , 2 Plasma, 9 CCW, PL with Wolf Claw and Storm Bolter, Rhino Transport

 

 

That is the general idea I had in my head. 

I was also thinking the best way to build what i currently have into a CoF list. 

Due to me loving the idea of +1 WS as i love rushing into CC as fast as possible. 

 

All comments, advice, everything, will be taken as mega helpful and i can study up on the rules and codex more before i can get into a game next wednesday.
