Codex add on, additional data sheets?

THE PORTCULLIS

Anyone who's read any of my posts recently will hopefully get that I'm terribly frustrated with what's in the codex. Its a thing I want to love.

Has anyone seen any gossip on datasheets or suppliments, some of the proper codexes seem to get them after a few months...

Surely GW will do something soon as I gots some dolla dolla they can wring from me and nothing I want to spend it on.

I don't think Grey Knights was a "proper" release. It was just cleaning up after splitting out Inquisition and Assassins. I wouldn't expect supplements until a real release, including miniatures. Notice how often the supplement is another reason to buy lots of the new figures.
I wouldn't expect much at all for a while. According to LoW gamibg who has been spot on every time, starting with BA there will be a rebranding with all SM. Now what that means for sure is unknown but in my opinion thats probably when GW might actually try to give a crap about not destroying codexs?

All the 're-branding' is, will be adding Adeptus Astartes to the title for each Space Marine codex.  So, for example, the upcoming codex will be called, "Adeptus Astartes: Blood Angels."  This is basically what they did earlier with the requisite rebranding of the Imperial Guard into the Astra Militarium.

I don't really see GKs gettng a supplement in the near future. I'm honestly not even sure I know what such a supplement would be about. I can definitely see additional formations being added though. If GW continues putting out campaign books like "The Red Waaagh", then I see us getting more formations further down the pipeline. There is already an established framework in the new book via strike forces (such as Strike Force Lucerne and Strike Force Falchion), and I could see GW adding a "Strike Force 'X'" formation to campaign books that have a GK presence.

Just seems weird to me how all the newest releases so far have received an expansion of sorts shortly after their release. Why wouldn't they do the same for us? I was under the impression that they were going to make it common practice.

It's probably because we can't really make use of more formations overly well because of how little units we actually have?
