Marshal Argos
Naja, I haven't really been active here for... a long time, and back then we didn't have the Imperial Guard board but it's nice to see that we have one now! Seeing that most other IG boards seem to be drying up, and I'm always looking for a little push to keep me painting I thought I'd try start a thread / plog here. The first few Posts will just be showing you where my army stands now, and then I'll get into the varied open projects that I have. In the following post's I'll highlight my Current WIP's and where I want to go with my army in the future. elmo
Welcome back to BnCS Marshal Argos. Nice to see your forces on parade and I have just spent 10 mins trying to work out the non-GW models you have used. I think I recognise some of them (BTR series?) I am looking forward to more now :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/298029-battle-group-82/#findComment-3834896 Share on other sites
scatmandoo
Army looks great. I like the rare variants that you use too. Do you game much and what is next for the army? WarriorFish
You wanted to get the push for your army? Marshal you poor soul... you have no idea Don't worry, I hear that people grow to love the peak capped shadow that follows them everywhere, asking when they're posting up their next model - for you will never be lonely again I like the officers and their berets, can we have some close ups of the troopers too please? Nice to see we're getting a good collection of urban armies now, it's a scheme I could never get right! Great to see a good collection, hopefully we can see you add to it soon Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/298029-battle-group-82/#findComment-3834948 Share on other sites
Marshal Argos
Thanks Gents! The none GW models are either complete scratch builds (MT-LB) or have a GW base (Panzer III'ish thing). I Included the GW so that no one could complain about not be GW. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_75mbae61KnA/TG1UWytVJfI/AAAAAAAAAgE/lEB9L3j_p_Y/s1600/SV600682.JPG Here's a few close up's of the various Infantry http://lh5.ggpht.com/_75mbae61KnA/TAuDfI05y_I/AAAAAAAAAao/bOlrX59KZGI/s912/SV600434.JPG http://lh6.ggpht.com/_75mbae61KnA/TAuDY9XLpvI/AAAAAAAAAaU/1wlQc_m1Bb8/s912/SV600429.JPG http://lh3.ggpht.com/_75mbae61KnA/TAuDNQymEPI/AAAAAAAAAaI/_PLSXUeCQRQ/s912/SV600425.JPG http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-D9LxZT4bUKk/U1Eb7jH3v4I/AAAAAAAABLg/1Ye9pLQDrq8/s1600/DSCN2784.JPG As to the future. I hope to have my Rough Riders done before the end of the Week, and after that my Avenger. Marshal Argos
Army looks great. I like the rare variants that you use too. Do you game much and what is next for the army? What's next... hmmm.... In the 15 years I've had my guard army I've never said it was "done" :) Currently on my desk to be completed is my Warhound and my Avenger. After that I've got all my Heavy Weapons an Infantry Squad for the 7th Scansin. After that who knows..... WarriorFish
No Guard army is ever done ;) The colour scheme on your troopers looks great, especially the red shoulder pad and beret - but then I may be biased  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/298029-battle-group-82/#findComment-3835982 Share on other sites
Marshal Argos
So, Had some time last night to get most of the detailing done on my Rough Riders. "G Troop, 19th Scansin Lancers". Arms and Legs are Victoria Miniatures, Torso's and Heads from Curious Constructs, Horses are GW. I've got 10 of these but won't work on getting them assembled until after I get my Heavy Weapons Squads done. Can't have your Infantry and Cavalry charges with some Arty to support them. These still need their bases completed and some bed roles, but other than that they are pretty much done. Marshal Argos
Well I just thought I'd get these up before I forget. I finished up the details and their bases so these guys are finally ready to see a table top. Now it's on to a couple of heavy weapon squads before going back to the Infantry. WarriorFish
Ready to charge into battle, well done on finishing them. A good example of how much difference completed bases make especially with how much base each model has :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/298029-battle-group-82/#findComment-3852779 Share on other sites

Marshal Argos
Hiya all. So I realized as I updated my blog last night that I haven't done a very good job at keeping the up to date. That being the case here's just a few pics of the the latest project. These have been sitting on my desk nor for a while, prolly close to a year at least. And now that my Avenger is 95% done I started working on these. I'll gather up some pics of the Avenger in the next post as I know that I won't be doing any painting until at least Wednesday. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uoqdxJYLPpk/VNeZx4OYqsI/AAAAAAAABUI/iBVSxyscS_U/s1600/DSCN5540.JPG and http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zUTMevMdGlU/VNeaJZTBC8I/AAAAAAAABUQ/Tb9shTt0TRM/s1600/DSCN5541.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/298029-battle-group-82/#findComment-3945079 Share on other sites

Chefzilla
Nice use of the MTLB and the Panzer IIIs but that Basilisk is the bee's knees. I love it. Is that plasticard? Damned thing looks like a Nashorn! Very nice looking Kampfegruppe. Marshal Argos
Nice use of the MTLB and the Panzer IIIs but that Basilisk is the bee's knees. I love it. Is that plasticard? Damned thing looks like a Nashorn! Very nice looking Kampfegruppe. Thanks, the MTLB is about 80% Cereal box. Inside the PIII's is an 90's edition Rhino hull, (I picked 3 up for a tenner but they were pretty much useless by themselves.) As for the Basilisk, well the top of that one is Cereal box, and the bottom is an old Chimera. Her Sister, is almost completely out of Cereal box. Below is a WIP shot of both. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2623/3885338182_abceccaff5.jpg And all Cereal Box http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2497/3884468761_7ed4b9fe21_o.jpg Now you might ask why cereal box... Well of course it's cheaper than plastic, but basically I just refused to pay the outrageously overpriced German Prices for GW and or Plasticard. So I got into scratching a lot of my Armour from thing that I had around the house. Chefzilla
Well done, Herr Feldmarscahll. I'm just not that handy but I understand about those prices. $140 for a damned tank. Really? SW1
I'm liking the scratch built stuff. It's certainly an eye opener. Think I'll be adding an attempt to scratch build some vehicles to the long list of projects I've got. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/298029-battle-group-82/#findComment-3946965 Share on other sites
Marshal Argos
Ha, I really need to update this sometimes. So, the Avenger is about 90% done, there's just a few details that need to be corrected. With the With ETL IV going on, I'm concentrating on my Macharius Vanq, (Pics should be uploaded today after the batteries are recharged), but I was able to finish of these in this week. It's only taken me an... age to get them done, but here they are. I'm still trying to work out if I should be the BG82 Campaign badge on the gun shields, so maybe they're not really done....
