Nice paintjob man, they look sweet :)

 

They'll look really nice...on the shelf :( psilencers man...urgh. Like, I can kinda see the point to the BBQ squad with four incinerator, but Heavy 6 storm bolters that only do stuff if you get 'Force' happening (and Snap Shot if you move). Not fun. 

Rurik, love that dark armour!

 

What paints/colours did you use?

 

Those pictures where taken at night... the dark color is shown with low light, this new pictures where taken at daylight, so the color is variable. I just use the old "Bolter gun" color for the base, and a highlight of "chainmail". this was applied with an airbrush.

Some more pictures of Grand Master, now painted and added the effect of a whirling skull (soul of the glaive)

They did an excelent job... killing an entire unit of bikes... sadly, a second unit came closer and killed 3 purgators, Later, the justicar and Grand master avenged his los

How did you do the eyes, might want to try it for my terminators biggrin.png

Its quite easy to paint those eyes... just apply a blue layer, then apply some lighter blue as lighting, then, just apply some asure blue wash (I don't remember the name) to fix some parts.

Also can I just make 1 suggestion?

I would use Iron Breaker to do lights cause the metals seems a little dark.

Indeed, i need to do that, but I lost that color, and can't find it... i think i will buy a new one.

Ok guys time to share some experiences.

 

Last week i played against the terrible TAU (hahaha : evil laugh)

 

We played at 1200pts.

 

My army was something like this

 

HQ : Brother captain with Soul Glaive and Psilencer (he got presience and an extra power due to Warlord trait, and it was GoI)

Troop : 2x Terminator Squad

Heavy : 2x NDK with PT, Heavy Psycannon, and Gatling Psilencer

 1x Purgator Squad with 4 Psilencers, Jisticar with Halberd and teleport homer

My enemy had

 

2x Riptides, lots of fire warriors and pathfinders with special weapons, a Hammerhead with some kind of improvement.

 

 

Turn 1 : TAU

He got the first turn, so i tried to get some cover (the battlefield was an horrible empty zone) .

He shoot some bullets against my first NDK and took two wounds. and that's all for first turn of TAU.

 

Turn 1 : GK

 I definitely had no good cover, so i need to get close to the enemy as fast as possible (or I will die against shooting), so Two NDKS use his teleport movement to get close to the riptides.

Brother Captain cast GoI and purgators cast Force. all fine. NDKs cast Force too.

Both Terminator Squads sayed on reserve.

 

So then comes the shooting phase.

First NDK shoot his Psilencer against one Riptide, and put 2 wounds on it, but riptide successfully saves. then Psycannon managed to put a wound on it.

Second NDK tried against the wounded riptide and make 3 wounds. Riptide rolls a 1!!!! so it was EVAPORATED! (I could not describe my opponent's face)

 

So was the turn of the Brother Captain. He and his unit rolled 30 dices against the second Riptide, puting 6 wounds on it... Riptide rolled his saves, getting two 1s.... BUM!! goodbye riptide...

 

Following turns where an strategic dance controlling battlefield objectives... You must never underestimate the Fire warriors, they are very deadly with their rifles.

 

But i win anyway. Victory to the GK!!!

Congratulations on the win! But I do hope that the purgation squad were snap firing? Because gating counts as moving, and they all had heavy weapons.

 

Yes they did snap fire...

 

1 question, do you reroll to hit and wound only when in close combat since Soul Glave is a halberd or when you activate Force during the whole turn so it also applies when you are shooting.

 

reroll is just for close combat.
