Rabenfeder
Hey there, I've got a quick question: I want to display a harvested field on my army's bases, but I fail to see how I may show that the earth is kinda wet and muddy and not just dark sand. I'm also unsure what I should use for the corn stubbles. Any suggestions? helterskelter
Chopped up cocktail sticks for the stubble, and use a bit of a gloss to add wetness? Durus
I'd look into military models, diorama building and model trains. After a quick google search I found somebody using raffia as corn stalks, I figure if you cut regular hay to length it would look the part as well, you just have to make sure to seal it well so it doesn't rub off or break if you handle it frequently while gaming. Personally I'd just use 0 size or H0 size plastic plants for model trains. A box of those should be enough to base an entire army and they'll be considerably more detailed in comparison. For wet mud check out the tutorial by Mr Justin. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/298140-base-harvested-field/#findComment-3839585 Share on other sites
