First Victory for the Glory of the Fang!

A friend and I got together to play our first 7th edition game, and my first Space Wolves game. He plays Dark Angels, bike spam with terminator support. He also used sniper scouts.

My list was pretty basic, using almost every model I have so far. Five man blood claws, five man grey hunters, five wolf guard with bolsters and frost axes, all in Razorbacks with twin linked heavy framers. I had a squad of assault terminators. My wolf lord is the model from stormclaw, kitted as a wolf lord with a frost axe and bolt pistol.

He ran a list with black Knights, termie Knights, Samael, ravenwing bikers, and scout snipers.

I let him set up and go first, a habit I have with bikes. I forgot he had scout moves on his bikes. I won't forget again. He managed to disable the razorback varying my blood claws and warlord turn one but that was it.

I had set up my Razorbacks to serve as moving cover for my terminators, and that disabling managed to work in my favor. As it served as a funnel straight to my terminators. My turn one and we were already at knifepoint, and my terminators cut many threads on a charge even after losing two men to over watch Fire. They broke the black Knights.

I kept the snipers out of the fight with cover saves. More terrain funneling saw Samael nearly annihilate my Greg hunters, but they wounded him and did not break. my wolf lord and the boys were similarly abused by the other biker squad, but on their counter attack and with the wolf lord's swings they won the combat.

Turn two- he charged my disembarked wolf guard with the regrouped black Knights, the biggest mistake he could've made. The counter attacking frost axes wiped the Knights out.

The combat with Samael magically yielded no wounds on either side on his turn. My wolf lord killed the last of his bikers and got into cover.

I moved my Razorbacks to block off the knight terminators. I killed one with flames. My wolf guard squads were just close enough to pile into Samael. He died badly.

After that, with most of my forces in cover and most of his annihilated or unable to get to my sons of Rus, he conceded the game in turn 3.

The game got close way more quicky than I thought it would, but that's where the Wolves excel. I was sad to see my blood claws die so quickly (4 out of five on a charge) but that was the worst of the hurt I got.

It was a good game and next week we'll be playing at 1500.

Yeah they died badly, lol, but kept my warlord in the fight.

Building a razorback company, with several small grey hunter packs and the wolf guard troll hunting in Razorbacks and a full hunter squad with lots of plasma in a rhino. At larger points levels, I've got the option of throwing a mid sized pack of blood claws, Lukas the Trickster, and a wolf priest in terminator armor at the enemy with a land raider redeemer.

My small hunter squads look like this:

X5 grey hunters, x 3 ccw, plasma gun, plasma pistol, power fist, wolf guard pack leader w/ plasma pistol and power fist. Razorback w/ las cannon and twin linked plasma gun. Nasty stuff.

The full pack is x10 grey hunters, x2 plasma guns, x 8 ccw, pp power fist, wolf standard, wgpl w/ pp of; rhino

I have some pretty nasty lists with what I've got so far and I've got a dreadnought, vindicators, and combi weapons on the way.
