Rumour Control
Hi all, Im currently painting my armies on parade board and its the forge world cityscape primus sector, the on with the smashed up rhino on it. Ive painted it in emperors children colours and was wondering what colour would be best to do the chipping effect the looks real on a purple base colour. Never painted purple before so dont know what to do. I was thinking either a boltgun metal colour or charodon granite/skavenblight dinge. What would you recommend? Many thanks. Brother-Librarian Haegl
I guess both would work, depending on the tone of purple you're going for (whatever gives a better contrast (you might consider a dark red-brown for older damage with rusted chipped surfaces)). I can also recommend painting/stippling your highlight colour around the chips, which both represents the in-universe undercoat and makes for a starker contrast, which should make the effect pop more.
