The Point of Taking a Pistol over a CCW is the Overwatch , Shooting and then Assaulting and the higher Rending Iniative Attack (Herald and the Iron Priests!)

 

 

I though about TWC units and came to  a conclussion that they are really strong in a 1000 point game.

I made this list.

 

TWC 1000Points Herald

 

 

Herald + 2 Wolfes 206pts

 

IP(Pistol) + 4 Cyberwolves 165pts

IP(Pistol) + 4 Cyberwolves 165pts

 

3 TWC with Chainsword+Pistol 120pts

2 TWC with Stormshield/Pistol  110pts

1 TWCL with Chainsword+Pistol  40pts

 

1 WGTPL with StormShield and StormBolter 40pts

5 Longfangs with ML 150 pts

 

996 points in Total

 

 

 

Im arguing internialy about the Wolves on the HQ. They are Cheap wounds but they also block a 5pts upgreade cause the leave 4pts only.

And in this Compostion i think spending 15pts/20pts on a Sword/Claw for an AP3 Weapon for the TWCL might be a good boost.

Since the Army is mostly TWC - Herald is in my eyes the better choice.

The LongFangs gives good Support in the Back (Tarpet and Tanks) and the SSWG gives some Protection.

1000points game are often played on a 4'x4' Table so the TWC and IP should be in CC really Fast.

Could i use the Acute Sense/Outflank Combo to make sure i attack in CC round 1?

If I was going a 1,000 point game on the board here's what I would do.

 

TWC 1000Points Herald

15 Fenrisian Wolves

6 TWC with Chainsword+Pistol

6 TWC with Chainsword+Pistol

 

1,000 points in Total

 

 

 

Fen Wolves tar pit if you need to, and rush across first eating over watch. Stubborn/LD10 and Furious charge make that a good start. 2 full loads of 6 TWC can then come in and crush into a force where needed. If there is some heavy Weaponry like a LRC, x2 IP attacking with s10 x5 Attack AP 1 weapons with rending will fix that.

 

Edit: Even with the s9 vs s10 debate about the TWM aside, these IP would have S10 Because of the Furious Charge, so I'm changing it to that.

Nope; you cannot assault from Reserves.

You also can't Outflank T1. You're probably thinking about Infiltrate, which also wouldn't work, since no assaulting after Infiltrate.

Outflanking on Harald is a trap. You want to charge ASAP. Outflanking means charging T3 at best. Sometimes T4. Game will be over by then.
