WingsOfTheFalcon
Hi guys. Wanted to share this mini I entered in a comp today, no win unfortunately but good to get back in practice with it! Hope you guys like it! WotF. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/298434-deathwatch-captain-formerly-of-the-iron-snakes/ Share on other sites
Lysimachus
That's beautiful, great kitbash and really well painted! And it didn't win? The other one must have been freaking awesome (or painted by the organisers nephew or something!) Dosjetka
That is one lovely model, WotF. I love the conversion work you've done and the paint job fits the model well. It's a shame that you didn't win, but it's definitely a good start and a step in the right direction! :) What you may want to improve is the smoothness of the transition on the cape (looks a bit chalky) and perhaps make sure that your edge highlights are more precise and thinner Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/298434-deathwatch-captain-formerly-of-the-iron-snakes/#findComment-3843742 Share on other sites

WingsOfTheFalcon
Thanks very much for the feedback guys. I had given myself a month to paint my entry for the comp and then had a crisis of confidence last weekend, changed minis and started again from the ground up. Schoolboy error! The model which won was absolutely stunning and well deserving of the win, don't begrudge it at all. :) If I had given myself a bit more time I'd definitely have taken steps to smooth out the cape, a couple of glazes definitely wouldn't have hurt. The edge highlights (especially on the legs) have lots of room to improve! It was good to work on it though and will be the first mini in my Deathwatch/Sternguard kill team. WotF. Widowmaker
Really nice work WingsOfTheFalcon. Love the conversion work, and the incredibly crisp paint scheme. If this is the first of the kill team, I look forward to seeing what else you come up with.
