3000pts. Raven Guard Isstvan Drop Pod Assault "New Player"

Hello everyone, due to some convincing from friends it appears that we are all going into Horus Heresy as one of our friends already has an Emperor's Children army and another a Word Bearers. After searching around I decided that I wanted to do a Night Lord's, Salamanders or Raven Guard army. This thread is about the Raven guard as they are the ones I am leaning towards the most due to the fact that I could actually afford them somewhat and I have always wanted to do a Drop Pod army. Now please I am brand new to Horus Heresy so if anyone could give me some insight as to how good this list I really would appreciate it, thanks for posting guys!

Tactics:

With Corvus and the Assault Squad in the Flyer, thanks to it having outflank I will come in from reserve from a side table edge in hover mode, deploy the squad and then have them assault with only having to worry about them taking fire from Overwatch.

With x7 Drop Pods I can have x4  come down turn 1 in various combinations depending on who my opponent is.

*NOTE: I am considering dropping the Heavy Weapons Squad for a Support Squad or another that could go inside a Drop Pod, if you guys have any insight into this in particular I would appreciate it!*

Hey guys I changed my list to Raven Guard as after finally getting a look at the 3rd book my interest has started to shift towards them (however part of me still likes the Night Lords and the Salamanders) so any feedback would be great, thanks!
