Screamerstar in 7th: How does it work?

Greetings all.

Riddle me this: how does the screamerstar function in 7th? With the restriction on casting powers from the same unit (depending on where you play I guess), and forewarning not stacking with the grimoire (although cursed earth kinda negates that), has it lost its bite? Also, what the hell do you do if your powers/the grimoire don't go off? Am I missing something here? There was a list with a screamerstar and 2 Knights that did well at nova I think, but without Fateweaver to help out with the grimoire roll I don't see how...

As I understand it, you place the screamerstar on the board and then your opponent gets extremely annoyed and possibly flounces off muttering about "overpowered win-button builds".

As this is usually followed by said opponent immediately deploying Tigurius and a blob of devastator centurions with a multi servo-skulled inquisitor, its all good.

What is Screamerstar in 7th:

There are a couple of different ways to run the star in 7th now, and they're all ok.

The Full Star:

Herald on Disc, ML3, Exalted Reward - 150

Herald on Disc, ML3, Exalted Reward - 150

Herald on Disc, ML3, Locus of Conjuration - 150

Herald on Disc, ML3 - 125

9 Screamers - 225

In this configuration you're spending 800 points on the star, but are most likely to get cursed earth. what do you do with it? well, jam the 2++ rerollable unit down the enemies throat of course!

I run it a bit lighter, with only 2 heralds, and belakor.

Belakor

Herald on Disc, ML3, Exalted Reward, Locus of Conjuration - 175

Herald on Disc, ML3, Exalted Reward - 150

9 Screamers - 225

In both situations, the first herald to roll on the psychic table will roll on malefic demonology until they roll cursed earth, and so will the second one until cursed earth. it is possible that you won't get cursed earth, then you're playing a much harder game... hopefully you can summon a herald with cursed earth!

Belakor loves screamers, as he can cast shrouding giving them a  2+ rerollable jink save.

with cursed earth among the first rolls fromt he first herald, the second will often take divination, to get prescience and perfect timing... then its up to D6 S6 no cover saves twin linked shots from cursed earth... usually enough to kill something like a wave serpent.

Or they crusie around dropping out more demons, who don't scatter and get +1 inv save due to cursed earth.

Fateweaver helps with the grimoire roll, but I find belakor more useful as both executioner and buffer.

they're also excellent as a maneuverable unit, when they turbo boost over anyhting they cause D3 S4 hits per screamer, so they can sip around threatening light vehicles and infantry.

Are they stupid broken? only when you have cursed earth and the grimoire... but even that can't stand up to D from a knight titan or other LOW.
