AfroCampbell
as the title says, when did the paint scheme change. Was looking at them at the Seige of Terra in visions of heresy and they are blue Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/298596-when-did-the-thousand-sons-go-blue/ Share on other sites
Grand Master Belial
I would say as they accepted Tzeentch as their patron God over the Emperor. As the Lord of Change loves psykers and you have a legion of Sorcerer soldiers, I can see Tzeentch thumb the eye of Loyalist Librarians by mocking their blue livery and having his legion of warriors painted as librarians with far greater powers at their command. Captain Tezdal
Didn't it happen when Ahriman defeated Amon and took over the brotherhood of dust post-heresy? Kol Saresk
Some changed their blue livery as earlier as the Legion Wars as Khayon and the Wondermaker are not associated with each other, but both wear the blue. As the Legions would begin to splinter an then fully sunder during the Legion Wars, the logical assumption would be that while we do not know when the blue woul first specifically appear, we do know that it woul be a defining characteristic of the majority of the Thousand Sons before the end of the 31st Millennium and that by the 41st Millenium there would still be some who wore the red of old while other warbands might even wear something like say, green. AfroCampbell
So if that is the case, what was worn by the contingent of thousand sons at the Seige of Terra? Kol Saresk
Unknown at this time. Since the mixture of some red and some blue survives up until 40K, it actually is feasible you could do one, the other or both and still be in the clear. Atia
We don't know when Ahriman casts the Rubric (before or after Terra?), but it seems likely after, as he was send by Magnus to Horus, so i would gues they used red armour during the Siege of Terra (and the art piece of Visions of Heresy is just false ...)
