Hello brothers,

Next saturday I got a 1000 point tournament. But I havent played for over an year so I need some advice on what are good builds. I use to play wolf wing or mass grey hunters. My fist thought was a list with the runepriest, and 3 squads of wolfguard terminators with 1 squad on tabble. Another thought is a list with runepriest, wolfguard terminators, 2 grey hunters sqyads and a vindicator.

But what is a good build. I dont buy new units for now and now I got these units:

-Logan

-Arjac

-Terminator Runepriest

-Ulric

-5 x 10 grey hunters with 1 powerfist, 2 melta guns and CC weapons for eacht squads

-5 droppods

-5 rhinos

-Stormwolf transport flyer

-2 vindicators

-5 wolfguard terminators witt assault cannon, powerfist, chainsfist, 2x wolfclaw and frost axe and combi meltas

-5 void claws terminators

-4x5 wolfgaurd terminators with assault cannon / cyclone missile launcher, powerfist, chainfist, 2x wolfcalws and frost axe

-2 razorbacks with lascannons

-2x 5 long fangs with 5 lascannons and 5 missile launchers.

At 1000 pts you really need to take as few HQ's as possible.

The psychic phase in 7th is pretty much you either build a list around it or you don't At 1000 pts, the termie RP at ML2 wouldn't be your best bet.

7th is about mobility due to objective capturing. My suggestions are to keep all 5 DP's. 2 empty in reserve for objective capturing and 3 to come in with GH's turn 1,

I'd maybe include the 3rd DP with Ulrik and Arjac for the PE bubble for them and the other 2.

I wouldnt look at the flyer. At 1000 pts, its a pts sink 1/4 of your pts in 1 unit.

A backfield LF's unit is an option + a razorback. They can exit the RB and the RB can be used to capture objective.

You basically want the most mobile force with most units you can get for 1000 pts. Wolves unleashed will allow you to take that many troop choices.

It depends on the gametype, but if you're doing Maelstrom of War, having lots of mobile troops (Like your GHs + Drops Pods/Razorbacks) is a really nice thing.  I'm not sure I'd pack meltasx2 + all 5 packs of GHers, but I'd probably think about 1 pod + 10 GHs, 2 Meltas, and if you can, a combi-melta, then 2 x 5 GHs in the Razorbacks, or 2x10 GHs in the Rhinos.

I'd avoid the LFs myself, as they scream, "Shoot me, I'm squishy!" and you'll probably just get better mileage (in my experience) with the Razorbacks.  Terminators tend to cost too much, but if you want to take a beacon and have them follow in on turn two, you certainly could.  Ulric is expensive compared to some options (like WGBL, vanilla WL/RP) but he's pretty effective for the points, I think, so you may be able to get away with him riding along in a rhino or Razorback.

I probably would avoid the Vindicators unless you end up going almost purely rhino/razorback rush + the vindicators.

Sorry, Wolves unleashed, where can I find it? We only got the champions of fenris supplement and there you're allowed 6 elite choices and only 3 troop choices.

But about Ulric. I think to use him. Was thinking of 1 squad of 10 grey hunters in a rhino, 2 squads of 5 grey hunters in a razorback and with ulric in one of them, and 2 vindicators as fire support, because maybe noboady expect that. Point wise I dont know if it's 1000 points or more, dont have the book with me.

I'm playing this CoF supplement list at 1000 points:

WGBL: Runic armour, Thunderwolf, Fellclaw's teeth, Stormshield, Wolf claw, 2 Fenrisian wolves - 191

Iron Priest: 4 Cyberwolves - 165

5 TDAWG: 4 combi-plasma, 2 SS, Frost axe, PF, Power sword - 215

Dedicated Drop pod: Istvan massacre (no scatter DS) - 70

13 Fenrisian wolves - 104

5 TWC: PF, 2 SS - 255

Total: 1000

This is a beast of a list in my experience so far. I've yet to lose with it. The ability to forgo troops in small games, while remaining Bound is golden.

Nice list, but dont have wolves yet.

Was thinking of a list with Ulric, 1 grey hunter squad of 10 man with a rhino, 2 grey hunter squads of 5 men with a razorback with twin linked lascannon and 2 vindicators. But still have 45 points to much. Maybe change ulric for a runepriest with runic armour. But only got 1 terminator armour runepriest.

Also was thinking of the use of a 2 formation army. Arjac Shieldbrothers and Voidclaws. Together they are 845 points. If I take 3 voidclaws extra I have 999 points. Arjac as the warlord and begin them in the Landraider Crusader and teleport the voiclwas in the backyard of the enemy.

I think the void claw formation works best when you are able to create a high pressure scenario turn 1 only. For example, they come in as well as 2+ DP's min. Otherwise you have dropped a unit 200+ pts backboard on the opponents side which will get shot off the board very quickly. Not sure i'd take 1/5 of my pts in void claw. Shield brothers also is a high pts value formation. Again a lot of pts investment for a 1000pts army, they very resilient but not too killy as they will only ever get 2 attacks at init 1 or 3 on the charge.

At 1000pts, id focus on GH units, at least 1 plasma unit, rest bolter + 1 special CCW units. In DP's + rhinos and a single cheap HQ. You really want to saturate the board with as many mobile units as possible. How about a unit of 5 skyclaws with 2 flamers? The mobile, cheap and can capture objectives quickly.

Also nice those sky claws, but dont have the models. I also not planning to buy new minis in the future. But try to fix the list, maybe I think on this list.

-Ulric the Slayer

- 10x grey hunters with 2 meltaguns, 1x powerfist and 1 rhino

-5x grey hunters with 1 meltagun and 1 powerfist and 1 razorback with twin linked lascannon

-6 grey hunters with 1 meltagun and 1 powerfist

-2 Vindicators.

Ulrick drives in the Razorback. The 6 grey hunters on foot stays at the objective in my own deploymentzone. Vndicators act as firesupport.

Is 986 points

Well I take a look, but the assault cannon is the same point as the twin linked lascannon. But got a question about the verhicle equipment, the vindicator has no standard stormbolter, while the rhino got a pintle mounted stormbolter. In the verhicle list you can choose a stormbolter for 5 points, but there is no numbers behind the stombolter. So you can 2 stormbolters, or am I wrong?

I'm thinking on the following list

List 1

Ulric the Slayer

10 grey hunters with Cc weapons and 2 meltaguns and a powerfist in a rhino

5 grey hunters with Cc weapons, 1 powerfist and 1 meltagun and a rhino

5 grey hunters with Cc weapons, 1 powerfist, 1 melatgun and a razorback with twin linked lascannon

Vindicator with 2 stormbolters

Vindicator with 1 stormbolter.

List 2

Ulric the slayer

10 grey hunters with Cc weapons and 2 meltaguns and a powerfist in a rhino

10 grey hunters with Cc weapons and 2 meltaguns and a powerfist in a rhino

10 grey hunters with Cc weapons and 2 meltaguns and a powerfist in a rhino

Vindicator with 1 stormbolter

"A stormbolter" is one stormbolter (not up to infinite stormbolters at 5 points each).  AFAIK you can't make that selection of "a" thing more than once.  Man, a Rhino rolling up looking like it was drawn by Rob Liefield and piloted by Cable... that has to be wrong, but it sounds so fun, and way too effective for just 5 points/stormbolter, as anti-infantry.
