GrandMagnus
Hi, so I bougth bloodletter red, the red glaze from citadel, but its seems to be very shiny. Any suggestions on why this may be or how to avoid it. In the description of the product it mentions it as being not shiny. Lucien Eilam
In the first instance, make sure that it's properly mixed and that you're not applying too much. Any transparent colour will turn glassy if it's thick enough. If that doesn't help, add a drop of matt medium. JeffTibbetts
I think you might just not be shaking it up enough or something. Or maybe your pot's off. The old washes and glazes were glossyish, but the new ones should be quite matte. Lahmian Medium is basically an untinted glaze, and it can be used as a matte paint in its own right. I haven't noticed any gloss to my new glazes. Can you maybe show us some pics? GrandMagnus
Ah just wanted to say I tried out shaking it well and adding a thin layer, it looks great now, not shiny at all. So, problem solved. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/298976-how-to-avoid-shining-glaze/#findComment-3856204 Share on other sites

No doubt, the one time they sent me the 2 wrong paints there was absolutely no problem, they just send the right ones straight away. Love the customer service. But its still better to pay for a good pot than a bad pot.
