LET THE GALAXY BURN.

So, Im starting a heresy log, hopefully I will get somewhere this time ( unsure.png ). Im starting off with Word Bearers, my own chapter the Chapter of the Bleeding Hand. As far as army organization I will be aiming for a big infantry groups and using the rite of war Dark Brethren allowing me to get daemons as allies.

Eventually I will add other legions to this thread, maybe Ultramarines or Imperial Fists for loyalists (Calth or Terra) and World Eaters, Sons of Horus or Iron Warriors (either of the scenarios).

I spent a while wondering if I should do a pre-heresy WB force in their grey scheme, but in the end the red scheme won. So without further ado, here is the first mini I added to the force. I want to say I was inspired by AlanofAngels NL to use the GW plastic kit with some bits from chaos marines and forge world to spice them up. So thank you Alan!

The picture quality is terrible due to horrible lighting and a crappy camera phone dry.png Also his base is not finished, Im still working on what to do, desert or ruined city. I will eventually experiment a bit with the bases to add some variation but in the begining they will be rather simple. Also, I havent freehanded the legion symbol yet because Im not sure what I should do:

A) The open book.

cool.png The Daemon skull.

Also, Im not sure about battle damage yet, I might have to add some. As well as some more freehand in particular on the knee pads.

Legion heraldry done! Though Im still kind of moving back and forth on the idea if it should be the book, the daemon skull or as seen in some of the HH work the daemon skull and book together. But since all the WB stuff (so far) has the book I thought it would be the right way to go.

Again Im sorry for the bad pictures, but Im still using my phone until I get a new USB cable for the camera, I lost it somewhere.

Just finished this marine today, the second in the squad.

++ The pictures show legionary Sulin, IV tactical squad, Infantry company, Chapter of the Bleeding Hand, XVIIth legion. ++

++ Notes: He is equiped with a suit of MK VI considered to have been looted from a fallen raven guard legionary on Isstvan V, or perhabs fabricated by the traitor supply lines. ++

Ive realized that I need to fetch a hand drill to take care of those bolters. Also I removed the Imperial Aquila from the bolter but it looks a bit messed up, any suggestions as to how I can fix that, make it smoother?

I also realise they are very bare but Im trying to figure out how to add astrological patterns and caothic imagery to the armour, aswell as company, squad and chapter markings.

Decals, for all of the above?

Maybe Atia, but the job is keeping me busy tongue.png Perhabs when I get around to some smaller elite units or contemptors.

Karden: Well, Im definetly going to work on some Ultramarines legionaries when FW starts producing their unique bits. Dont you worry :P

I have some fluff for you, dedicated to my chapters veteran squads, the Gar-Balagh:

THE GAR-BALAGH.

The Gar-Balagh, or Oathsworn in colchisian, are the elite veteran company of the Chapter of the Bleeding Hand, under the command of Alastor Fauh. These men are chosen from the most dedicated and fanatical of the chapters battle-brothers and their initiation rites involve bloody and macabre human sacrifices in honour of the creatures from the warp. Each of them is blessed by the gods in one way or another and the battle brothers fight even harder at their side.

In battle their objective is to lead infantry formations, each formation usually consisting of a Gar-Balagh squad, two tactical squads and support units, lead by either a chaplain or a company captain. They spearhead their assault, fight where the battle is thickest or take vital objectives.

Their distinctive features are their brass helmets and ornate armour as well as brass or bone horns attached to the helmets of the Gar-Balagh chosen.

Its not much, but I like the idea of a distinct group of veterans, it fits the theme that each WB chapter has a diferent rituals and traditions. I might have another marine later today.

And damn you Karden for making me want to rejoin my beloved XIIIth legion :P I must resists the temptation until Calth gets here.

Well, I said I would have a finished marine but it wont be until this evening, work and stuff leaves me with little time to paint. But other than that I have some more fluff for you:

CHAPTER OF THE BLEEDING HAND.

ANUK-HABAAL.

The chapter of the Bleeding Hand is a grim and determined chapter, specialized in the grim duty of extermination. Whenever the legion conquered a new world and meet a population who would not bow down to the might of the Imperium only one option remained: bloody devastation. During the heresy, the dark arts and bloody traditions of the Anuk-Habaal was unleashed upon their loyalist brothers and the citizens of the Imperium.

COMBAT DOCTRINE:

The Bleeding Hand mostly fights with the standard legion formation. Big infantry units, often 20 man strong, lead by the elite Gar-Balagh form the backbone of the chapter. These formations are supported by destroyer squads and extermination support units, support squads armed with heavy flamers. Depending on the battle field the chapter may choose to deploy a assault formation containing close combat units or breachers and terminators for ship, orbital platforms and dense hive cities.

No matter the odds the bleeding hand keeps striking, aiming to strangle the life from the enemy until nothing remains alive. Following the last years of the Great Crusade and the start of the Horus Heresy, with the influence of Alastor Fauh, the legion delved deep into dark rituals which would tie their fate with the daemons of the warp.

BATTLE-BARGE: “MORANA” THE LADY MIDNIGHT.

This giant battle ship has been reconstructed by the mechanicum loyal to the XVIIth legion to look like a giant cathedral, with long hallways and great towers along its back. On this prow it features a large horned skull, its main battle cannon exiting its mouth.

Its not particularly fast or manouvarable due to its size making it bulky and slow. But what it lacks in speed it makes up for in armour and firepower as well as transport capability.

The ship is known officially as the Lady Midnight and it has fought for the Imperium since the Unification Wars. Known affectionately among its crew as “Morana” the name of the first captain during its initiation into the Imperial Navy.

So, a bit of imperfect fluff :D Im considering what my next purchase should be, probably expanding the tactical squad or starting with the XIIIth legion. As I said, it will be a themed combination of armies, The Shadow Crusade, so expect to see Word Bearers, World Eaters, Ultramarines, Mechanicum, Imperial Army and Daemons. Atleast that I what I have planed.

Well, update time! Damn this guy took a while. His knife hand kept falling off which was really irritating.

And bla-bla, terrible camera bla-bla the same :P As far as bases go, Im testing out a dry earth pattern on the other guys, with some small grass and stuff. Ive never been good at basing anyways.

So, C&C.

Awesome work dude! I really love the red that you've achieved and the freehand is excellent. Just one thing... drill those bolter barrels! smile.png

Thank you!. I know about the barrels :P I dont have a handrill right now, but I will definetly have to buy one.
