Grey Knight Dual Kits (?)

So, the Tyranids have obviously just gotten several dual (or evn triple) kits released as follows, some of them even with entirely new models/rules:

-Toxicrene/Maleceptor (new models and new rules)

-Tyrranocyte/Sporocyst/Mucolid (new models and new rules)

-Venomthrope/Zoanthrope/Neuothrope (new modesl for Venomthrope/Zoanthrope, new model and rules for Neurothrope)

So, if GW is willing to produce so many new models (and new rules!!) for Tyrannids, independent of a new codex release, what might they do for GKs, which did lose a good bit of Inquisatorial units and rules/WG in the most recent codex?

What do you think might happen if GK got somthing like this? Here is an example I thought of:

Dreadknight/PsyKnight dual kit -- New model for Dreadknight (same fluff/rules as codex) and new model/unit/rules for the Psy Knight:

Psy Knight (Monstrous Creature)

WS4 BS4 S6 T6 W4 I4 A3 Ld10 Sv 2+/4++

Wargear:

-Truesilver Gauntlet -- Causes ID to all Psykers and Daemons who suffer an unsaved wound with this weapon

-Dreadshield Generator -- Grants PsyKnight 4++ and adds +1 to the Invul save for any friendly GK units within 6" (grants a 6++ for a unit which has no Invul save to begin with). Cumalitive with Sanctuary power.

-Psionic Accelerator Matrix -- Increases the range of any witchfire psychic powers manifested by the bearer by +12" and allows the model to successfully harness warp charges on a 3+ when casting a witchfire power.

Special Rules:

-ATSKNF

-PML(3) - Always knows the Banishment, Hammerhand, Gates of Infinity, and Vortex of Doom powers

-The Aegis

-Purity of Spirit

Talking to a GW store owner GW has heard complaints and been watching so they are supposedly trying a new units with rules in white dwarf in between codexs to fix up armies that 'really' need it. So they just might show us some love hopefully.  Now about the char proposed.. You had me till till you gave a Dread Knight GoI and VoD. The matrix was iffy, but doable, then you took a NDK made it outrageously op with GoI and VoD combo.. I know if I played against that I would just rage quit come turn one.

I would suggest giving it PML (2) - Banishment, Purgesoul, Cleanising Flame.

Can purchase same thing as all other NDKs for same price

Price this one at say 150.

Might be feasible but 2 types of Knights is probably over doing it. A new hq might be more realistic to hope for.

Oh, hey. Another place to post these!

What it says on the tin. If Dark Angels and Space Wolves get a set of flyers, Grey Knights deserve some too!

Pyrespear Assault Fighter - 160 Points
Not having the manpower, equipment or time for lengthy siege campaigns, Grey Knights need a swift an foolproof way to break through whatever cover their prey may cower behind. The Pyrespear is one answer, bringing to bear the most withering firepower possible on a small, fast and agile frame. Even if a vehicle or building should weather the point-blank melta barrage the heathens inside may be burned by boiling metal or washed in lethal melta energies.

Wargear:
Three mutli-meltas
Extra Armor
Ceramite Plating

Special Rules:
No Place to Hide: If the Pyrespear hits a transport or building with three multi-melta attacks in one shooting phase, any embarked unit inside immediately takes d6 S5 AP1 hits.

Options:
Searchlight - 1pt
Locator Beacon - 10pts
One of the following:
Two incinerator bombards - 15pts: S6 AP4 One use only, Bomb, Blast, Soul Blaze, Ignores Cover
Velocitus array - 15pts
Deployment Racks - 20pts

Psyspear Outrider - 170pts
Perhaps no other vehicle demonstrates better the Grey Knight's mastery over psychoreactive technology than the Psyspear. The small fighter carries weapons capable of slaying a creature's very soul and rending asunder reality itself. But the most potent aspect of this fighter is the psychokinetic bow wave it projects, drawing Grey Knights forward in bounding leaps and with blinding speed, closing them with the heretics below.

Deployment Racks: A model with deployment racks has the Transport unit type, a transport capacity of five models and the Skies of Fury special rule. A model with deployment racks may not carry bulky or very bulky models.

Skystorm Squadron

I wish we could have cool Flyers :( those ideas look sweet (with a bit of fine-tuning of course).

My feeling is they'll give us another infantry choice, or another vehicle. Our roster is looking decidedly thin these days.

Personally, i think new units would not be possible, as they close any chance in the Chapter Organization section.  I think a good addition would be something like "Heroes of Titan" supplement, where a lot of HQ like the Grand Masters and Captains on these section, takes place. Each with an unique ability for their squads. I would buy something like that...

Just because the unit types/are all named doesn't mean they cant have a different role like the Tyranid War Veterans of the Ultramarines. They could have encountered a few chaos marines summoning endless daemons and needed something a bit more potent than a flamer on a strike squad to teleport into the heart of darkness and crush the daemon factory at it's very foundations. The pre-emptive daemon hunters ;)

GW repeatedly and shamelessly ret-con anything and everything in their canon. Nothing is sacred.

With that in mind, its entirely possible they'll introduce new units in either data-slate supplements, campaign books or...(speak the 666 sacred words)...A BETTER CODEX!

Wouldn't hold your breath though. We've been data-slated in all but name, GW don't want us at the top tier tables except as Allies to a better army.

I could see a GK Librarian Dread being a thing. I think our best option is some kind of Heroes of Titan thing, maybe a Grey Knights/Daemons style campaign ala Nids/Blood Angels. They could give us some new characters (plenty of room for variation there) a Librarian Dread and maybe some kind of detachment? I don't really see much else being feasible.

or maybe some useful formations. Tyranids takes a lot.

Vigilance of the Venerables

Formation requirement

3-5 Grey Knight dreadnoughts

Shield of Vigilance

Costs 2 warp charges

So long as 3 or more Grey Knight Dreadnoughts are within 4inchs of one another they may combine their pyschic might whwn they cast sanctuary. This reflects a shield granting +3 to the dreadnoughts. In addition any Grey Knight unit with 6 inchs of this unit get a +1 to their invulnerable save and +1 to their 'look out sir!' Rolls which If successfully passed must automatically be Inflicted on the closest Dreadnought.

Hows that sound? Should make our over priced dreads more useful.

Since grey knight dreadnoughts are super rare and often have brother captains and grandmasters in them.. I doubt they'd have 3 or more deployed at once, simply to be a 'living' sheild.

I don't think any kind of dreadnought formation would be good for us, considering our basic nought is as much as a kitted out vanilla nought. Plus a decent monstrous creature in combat with the formation would probably wreck 2 at once. Plus it'll cost a bomb!

We need formations for things like paladins and purgation squads.

Something to increase paladin survivability and something that allows purgations to move and shoot.

I think Paladins are ok as they are, i use them a lot and never ever had been defeated.

The real formation we need is one evolving Strike Squads or Purgation Squads. Or even a techmarine to makes them useful
