Probably another typo they didn't take out :)

I wonder if the character personalisation stuff with actual just be 'advancement' following campaigns and injury recovery...like in Victory is Vengeance.  Along with the Relics, which isn't really personalisation and more than wargear.

...mumble ...no 'real' legion stuff

...mumble ...not planning a knight or solar guard army

Waitaminute! It's my birthday! Oh FW, you shouldn't have...

ORDERED! tongue.png

So ten pages of lore each to the Legions of either side, but no detail otherwise.

Unless there is an extra page to the table, looks like it actually isn't much longer than Extinction. An extra twenty pages maybe. But the same amount of lore, before the rules and missions. Still excited, but I guess I shouldn't have let myself be hyped up over an extra hundred pages.

I'd guess for the Loyalists that'd be 1 generic title page, then 1 page of text & 2 pages of designs for each of the three Legions.

In terms of the Traitors, at the HH weekender, they showed 4 seperate SoH armour designs, plus there's a SoH-specific Contemptor design in IA:13, so I'd expect that'll mean 5 pages of designs for them, plus at least 2 pages of designs for the DG from the 2 designs previewed. The section is titles 'The Traitor Legions & their Allies' so I'd guess a little bit on the dark Mechanicum in there too.

I disappear for a vacation this weekend, and come back to Conquest coming out?

NOW it's officially the best vacation ever...  :P

The inclusion and exclusion of some legions vs others makes me wonder if how a legion sells at Forgeworld impacts what's featured in 'in between' books like Conquest. Wouldn't doubt it!

I can say with 100% certainty it really doesn't. Been lucky enough to talk to some of the writers about it and the idea that it's a money grab is a bit of a laugh tbh. It's all about the story/narrative they want to tell. Just because some Legions feature more prominently in certain parts of it than others (I swear some people tend to forget it's the HORUS Heresy) doesn't mean there's a particular bias or onus on the stuff being churned out to drive sales. If certain Legions have less to be told (Iron Warriors spring to mind) then so be it

STOMPAGEDDON! That's not scheduled until after the Scouring, right?

No! I didn't even get a chance to make my first order, and it seems that Forge World ruined my plans again!

Poor me... I will be going totally bankrupt, because there are way to many shiny stuff coming from FW.

Still I think, I have to wait with this book 'till next year sad.png

I'm glad that's the way the creators say it is, but it's not laughable to theorize people running a business trying to harmonize sales and story. Yes they are fleshing out certain beats that have always been there in the music, but books like conquest -- it makes you wonder what may have been spit balled around in the board room. Lets look at knights in the heresy. Citadel makes their plastic kit. Good sales follow, affirming plans for Forge World to make some. They roll out, and find themselves on the cover of a Horus Heresy rules book series that started before their reintroduction with a good portion of the book dedicated to them. What if GW hadn't rolled out the hotcake-selling knights? I don't look down on the introduction and incorporation of knights, I welcome it, but I don't believe they'd be around right now so prominently in the Heresy hadn't the Citadel model have been made.

KBA, that'll only make them sell more ugly Raven Guard things

I can see your point but from the way they talked about schedules and how models are incorporated into novels and vice versa, I'd say that development from the FW side began before the plastic kit dropped and proved to be a strong line. Whether that's true for everything else, I couldn't say. But given the relationship between HH novels and HH models I'd be surprised if there's more than one or two that operate outside that generalisation.

In the main, once the whole HH series from FW exploded, it's pretty much cut and dried that things that have always been in the canon, whether that be BL novels, old GW rules/codices/White Dwarfs or whatever would get looked at because it's mostly stated that such things were always around back in the days of the GC.

As far as the knights go though, they appeared in Mechanicum, 25 or whatever books ago it was, and this was a significant amount of time before the Knights codex even had the green light.

Of course with some of the newer stuff like the maegara or however it's pronounced, it's much more likely that the success of the main line did accelerate the development in the same way has happened with Land Raiders in the past.

This is one of those things it is better to ask for forgiveness than for permission...

Just hope she isn't familiar with the Inquisition or forgiveness may not be an option. tongue.png

Let's just say I'm in her debt even if Jennifer Anniston asked me to marry her I'd have to stay indebted to the fiance.

at least I can frame the poster
