Brom MKIV
What is the strongest competitive list that you can devise at 1850 pts? The only restrictions are: -two detachments maximum + one fortification. -grey knights must be the primary. -may ally with yourself. -super heavies permitted. -forgeworld permitted (juse most recent printing). -no unbound. Brom MKIV
Sure! Up to 4 anyway. However grav spam and other things they could encounter makes me think some variety would be a better option. Reclusiarch Darius
My version of Boreas's list drops the Ravens for more Termies and an Aegis Line w/Comms Array (that thing is hideously powerful with a Nemesis Strikeforce), but yeah 4x DK is just so good. They do more work than any other unit can hope to, and with 'Sanctuary' they're now durable enough to reasonably withstand AP2 pointed at them. Psycannon and incinerator on them is pretty mean, you'll table a lot of horde armies Turn 1 pretty reliably. Quozzo
I wouldn't use meltas and lascannons on the ravens, keep the assault cannons. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299196-list-building-challenge/#findComment-3863233 Share on other sites
boreas
The SRs are mainly for anti-air/anti-tank. I feel that AP4 on the AC just don't cut it. Between the twin-linking BS4 and the high-strength, the TLLC/MM, it's almost 2 auto-pen at +1 on the table, giving me a good chance of exploding the vehicle. boreas
Well, against flyers and side-armour, Stormraven shoot at AV 10-11 a lot more. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299196-list-building-challenge/#findComment-3863280 Share on other sites
Reclusiarch Darius
I'd opt for AC these days. HP removal is how you kill things, and the AC will on average remove more HP than a lascannon. I'd keep the nose multi-melta though, its a definite improvement over the twin heavy bolter (bereft of psy-bolts its not really that good, same for the Hurricane sponsons). Downside to the tranny ctan is if you meet grav the list loses. Downside to the tranny ctan is if you meet grav the list loses. Eh, a full grav salvo hits the C'tan for 4 wounds after saves, and then the D-template picks them up. And that's if they have GoI and manage to shoot before it does - it outranges them pretty badly. Brom MKIV
That's only 3 cents. 4 cents will smoke it more often than not. Ya that's assuming GoI since crons have no def to it. I'll get to see this exact match next week actually.
