I really like the idea that the force belongs to you , they are your dudes , your great company , your force , my Bjorn  is Russik Firstfang  uses bjorns rules but hes a member of my wn army.  That being said its cool if you just like running more anon dudes and heros of the codex. If yer boy wants to go full Thousand sons  thats cool  why cant yer dudes and their great company crush em ?

Mind you I have read nearly every scrap of Fluff out there for space wolves  >.>  so im almost inclined to mess around with me own

I have been running dreadnought/TWC heavy lists lately and am having a blast. They have all pretty much been 2 units of TWC, a stormwolf, and a bunch of dreadnoughts. The first list was:

Bjorn, helfrost.

axe/shied+pod

multimelta+pod

flamer/heavyflamer+pod

dual auto cannons

2 units 4 TWC

stormwolf

In the two games I played with it, the axe/shield always did great. You HAVE to put him on the table turn 1, as he is a serious threat to the table. He can soak up fire, and 4 attacks on the charge is pretty nice. I wish our dreadnoughts had counter attack...

The double flamer dreadnought has been really fun, stacking up wounds like nobodies business, surprisingly he has done great against marines. It is also super fun to deny those pesky jink rolls on bikes and jetbikes. Autocannon dreadnought has only done poorly once, where there just was not much to shoot at. The biggest let down has been bjorn. I havent had him in a pod because I don't have enough pods, but he generally walks up the table, shrugging off some fire and eventually kills a single unit/vehicle.
