FW Bulletin #40

Interesting that they've decided to show 2x laurelled fists for the pads, when the assembled squad from the Warhammer Fest pics show each member with 1 of those pads and a second with a pair of crossed axes on a shield in a laurel. Given that the built models in the Bulletin are the same as the squad shown at Warhammer Fest, I'm assuming the pieces haven't changed.

Like that they're MkIV, as there's already a lot of IF MkIII love (especially with the Templar upgrade pack).

I guess I'm dissappointed that they're upgrade packs and not full blown kits (like the Iron Hands tactical squad and others), as you need to buy a pack of MkIV to go with them and immediately not use the torsos, pads, weapons, and helms. Bearing in mind you only want legs, backpacks, and right arms (the left are provided for the shields) it feels a bit of a wasted opportunity not to include them and make them a full set. Lots of resin going into bitz boxes (hopefully not bins) not to be used.

But, they'll sell in droves, as the MkIII Templar Bretheren will.

Actually I'm not a fan of this release, I just don't like the aesthetic and think that warder squads should have been armored in mkII or III.

The helmets look goofy compared to the nice destroyer helmets. These helmets remind me of the fugly Enforcer helmets over on maxmini (need to check if they're the ones who made those) they look quite similar.

At first I was a little peeved these weren't full kits, but realized this is for the better as I hack away and heighten all my minis anyway -- something very hard to do with the recon set, or any set, where the torso and legs are one piece. Hoping the Raven Guard kits are the same. Even if it means I have to spend more.

This. I think FW might be savvy enough to come around to his idea one day, but I fear they don't do it because then they will end up with a bunch of extra bits from pouring the molds and it's just a profit loss for them.

Don't they make each item on a per order basis though? If it doesn't sell well, atleast the would have made enough to cover the cost of the initial run.

I have been looking at the reinforced Destroyer Mk IV kit for some time as a possible mod for breachers as the reinforced armor seems like a good fit and a nice way to break up the Iron Armor. This all but guarantees I will incorporate this into my Warders, it will happen!

Well, they're a Fast Attack option so I can see why they're equipped with the 'most advanced' suits of power armor that happen to also be the lightest barring Mk VI Corvus.
