GrandMagnus
Hi brothers, I want to make a legion centurion at some point armed with a bolter and chainsword (maybe not the best options, but since I dont game its ok). I want him to be carrying the bolter across his chest or aiming it, so that leaves me with the question: where do I put the chainsword? Does anybody know how to make a scabbard? Grotsmasha
I've seen two ways. 1- Mag-locked to the belt, unsheathed, or 2- With some clever shoulder pad positioning, vertically on the back, under the power pack. I assume a little flattening of the back to allow a better fit. ElectricPaladin
I've always figured you could do a pretty good job by wrapping it in greenstuff, letting it cure a little, and then using a sculpting tool and little squiggles of greenstuff to add decorations and structural bits. GrandMagnus
The only thing Ive seen before is the chainsword glued to the side of the mini (like a regular sword would be) and like a greenstuff strap holding it there. Which kind of brings me to another question, where or how can I get a chainsword without a hand holding it? Lucien Eilam
Rather than use scabbards, Space Marines are often described as mag-locking weapons they aren't using directly to their armour. If you do want to make a scabbard, I'd add as little as you possibly can to the chainsword, or it's going to look like a huge box stuck to his leg. For the base, don't wrap the blade, just fill in the teeth with green stuff and add some plasticard banding at the hilt. Gurth
Sheathed CS? Pretty simple: here’s a link to show you what that looks like. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299284-sheathed-cs/#findComment-3862672 Share on other sites
GrandMagnus
Okay, I see how CS might not be clear, but I was refering to ChainSword. My fault! Veteran Sergeant
Make a handle out of plastic tube. I mean, we're talking about a plastic cylinder here, lol. Greenstuff tube for added detail (I.e. leather wrap around handle, cross-hatching on handle, etc.) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299284-sheathed-cs/#findComment-3862978 Share on other sites
AndrewChristlieb
Kromlech has some pretty epic totally not two handed chain swords. http://www.thewarstore.com/product70275.html Edit: not sheathed of course, but cool handles.
