and then I scored a Fire Raptor on the 'bay for a deal that could not be turned down.

Now Im needing some help in writing a list.

I want to run a hard as nails foot slogger list with bells and whistles and keep it fun, fluffy and competitive: the HH marine stuff is just dead sexy and the fists and hands gear has been my fav, I've been painting them both up as fists as I really dig their history and martial philosophy.

I play mech guard in 40k and have run hordes with nids and had a super elite eldar army. My marine armies in the past were mechanized and then I true scaled a balanced space wolf army.

Right now I have:

praetor set- will use the termi praetor in the termi squad

apothecary set

20 man tac squad

10 man on its way (thinking about a seeker squad)

2 rapier las destructors

1 AC mortis contemptor

3 termis

and a FIRE RAPTOR on its way !!! Woot-woot!!

So your help in fleshing out this list would be grandly appreciated gentlemen.

I tend to be aggressive and am thinking of bringing my termis up to a 10 man squad. I would like to get a big tank- maybe a typhoon for huge pie plates and perhaps a scorpius for more pie plates. I feel like my AA is covered with the dread and the raptor.

I did some quick math for the hell of it just to see where you're at with the models you have... No unit upgrades or anything, with a 10 man termi squad + Praetor and counting the 2nd 10-man as just a regular tac squad for a 2nd compulsory troops choice, and you're at around 1500 points. I'd seriously consider adding in a Spartan tank to transport the termis/Praetor, which would put you up around 1800 points. With the spare change you can bulk out the 2nd tac squad, spend points on the Praetor's kit, buy the obligatory Spartan flare shield/armoured ceramite combo and you'll have a very workable and well-rounded force. I'd recommend augury scanners on the apothecaries and vexillas in tac squads. Maybe Reaper turrets on the fire raptor? Can its regular quad bolters benefit from Disciplined Fire? Not sure on that one.

One other thing you could do is convert one or both of the Praetor models to represent specific consuls instead of Praetors. The Praetor option himself isn't so useful as anything other than a beatstick without a Rite of War, whereas the Consuls offer sweet squad buffs. Primus Medicae & Master of Signal are good, cheap options that work in your list's existing structure. The Master of Signals + Fists can be especially nasty by buffing squads firing bolters to BS6 before a Fury of the Legion attack...

If you decide on expanding your collection of yellow dudes I'd think of getting a 2nd flier of some kind, as one alone can get singled out pretty easily. Maybe a Storm Eagle? The Fists are all about having the biggest fleet around so it's pretty fluffy. All kinds of Consuls are great to have around too, both of the Fists specialist units have kits coming soon that look amazing, and if you do want to go full tough-foot-sloggy Fists you can nab an assload of Breachers for the option of playing your RoW. But yeah, what you've got going right now looks pretty solid already
