Deploy him in the front of the group, run the lightning claws forward leave Arjac in place. As long as he is within 2 inches he can still be in the unit right?

Now hes still in the unit but just at the back.

Does this work?

 

I was under the impression that whilst you could choose to move some models, and not others in the movement phase, If you choose to run, which you do in the shooting phase, your whole squad does that instead of shooting (ie you cant run some and not others)

You are correct in the sense that selecting to run and rolling a dice for distance D6, its for the whole unit. You can however choose not to move the whole unit or not. As long as 1 model move the run distance, the rest just have to comply with coherency rules to that model. Its possible that no models would need to "move" if one moves for eg. left to right

Yeah, you'd think they'd know how to shoot even if some of their comrades run. You'd also think they'd know how to pick up a special weapon that their buddy dropped when he died... tongue.png

And you would think that the esteemed Wolf Guard Veterans of the Company know how to handle a special weapons Oo

I've not got the codex with me - is Arjac an Independent Character then (as we are talking about him leaving the unit).

When I tried him last week - I ended up with my ThunderWolf-Guard Battle leader in a challenge with a Swarmlord. If one hit got through, my Warlord would have been insta-killed. Arjac got there just in time and managed a class "glorious intervention" and "took one for the team" ... leaving my Iron Priest to drop the big boy msn-wink.gif

But by choosing to run, the entire unit forfeits shooting, even if some models do not move.

Taking a void claws unit independently without any other drop pods in proximity support turn 1 is a suicide mission no matter what.

You can put lipstick on a pig....but its still a pig. ;)
