Suppressors and Pointy Fingers

reckoning

Recommended Posts

Well hands really and of the "right" variety. Im pretty sure GW believes that in the grim dark future, no one points with their right hand.

Im planning a few conversions and Ive run into a snag for one of my characters. Does anyone know where to find a pointing right hand, preferably PA or close enough?

Additionally, what do people use for sound suppressors on their bolters? Im very opposed to chopping up the sniper rifles as well as buying enough for what I have in mind.

Easiest way of doing it is cutting up plastic q-tips, get a stiff brand, easier to get an even cut.

Q-tips are a little too small to attach at the end of an existing barrel, works better to replace the stock barrel with a silencer.

To make a pointy hand on the right, you could cut the pointing finger off a left hand, then attach it to a right fist (off something like a chainsword so it is closed). When I made a Marine flipping the bird in my younger days of the long long ago, that's how I did it.

Plastic tubing of a slightly smaller diameter set inside the main suppressor tube at the muzzle end to give the look of it being attached to the muzzle, and at the business end, rather than leaving a gaping hole, either put a really small "dome" of green stuff and poke a hole in it or glue a bit of plasticard, trim/round off around the edges and poke your hole in that.  Either way, gives the appearance of the suppressor actually trapping gas.

Sorry my models don't generally do pointy fingers, mine have clenched fists for punching the lights out on any xeno, traitor or witch who happens to wander nearby.

If you have some small size single strand cable, you could use that. Re move barrel and drill a small hole to locate the cable.Cut back the outer pvc sheath as far as you want to go. If you want it ot look drilled ou/ hollow, slide the sheath along by a few mm. Insert into gun where old barrel used to be, and done!!

Leave the exposed copper a little longer than you intend to use though as it might get slight nicks in it as you move the sheath, do cuts etc....
