Wulvenblut
Hello, warriors of the Aett.I've been watching very closely the development of 30k, waiting for the appearance of our Primarch and his Legion. In the meantime, I really like the Adeptus Mechanicum models, particularly the Thallax, Castellax and Thanatar. So, I've been wondering in how to use those models in 40k, but I have to be sure in how to use them effectively and adequately, given the high price tag in any FW product. In fluff, my army is based in Egil Ironwolf's GC, with GH riding in Rhinos, WG in LR, some IP, a couple of predators, and a small squad of TWC. After the GC defends a Forge World and drives off the attackers, the robots will be found in an underground AdMech facility. Given the affinity for the GC towards machines, the Wolf Lord will order the Iron Priest to restore them for battle. I have to think in how the GC will get away with it without the AdMech allowing it, but for the time being it will be kind of a secret, just like the TWC existence is denied. One option is to use the rules in the 30k books, but I'm not so sure about how balanced the 30k vs 40k rules are. Another option is to use them with the Tau battlesuit rules (Thallax/Crisis, Castellax/Broadside, Thanatar/Riptide).¿What do you think, brothers? ¿Has anyone fought against an AdMech 30k army, and how balanced it was? ¿Do you have any other way to represent these robots in 40k?Thanks, everyone. For Russ and the Allfather!PS: I'm sorry for any grammar error, english isn't my native language. Frater Cornelius
I saw an AdMech army against regular SM. It was fairly close actually, although AdMech won. Not sure on the quality of either list though, so maybe one of them was a retard. As for the mech components, I like the idea. I would steer clear from Tau discussions, seeing as this board does not allow Xenos (good thing too). It would be possible though. I prefer them as AdMech though. It might not be tournament legal but most people at gaming stores do not know any better, so use them. Just do not forget to give them than wolfy touch ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299562-adeptus-mechanicus-as-sw-allies-and-how-to-represent-them/#findComment-3868569 Share on other sites
Huggtand
I´m in the same situation myself, want to do SW 30k but until FW releases the rules and models I’m starting to collecting AdMech. Not crying much over it since I love the Mechanicum also. Dark Bjoern on this forum posted a batrep http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295233-thagmata-mourndark-vs-orks/ Here is one other guy who done some battle reports https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWVwkGrdqVEGkU3LNlp70fw Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299562-adeptus-mechanicus-as-sw-allies-and-how-to-represent-them/#findComment-3868611 Share on other sites
Wulvenblut
Thanks for the answer! I've talk to my group and they are ok with me bringing an AdMech alleid detachment with their corresponding 30k rules. I will use a Magos prime with jet pack and a couple of ranged weapons (I was thinking of using an IP or techmarine to represent him, but the stats don't reflect the model. Instead I will use a regular magos with some SW bits), some Thallax as troops (the magos goes in here) and a Thanatar in the back to bring the pain.@Immersturm. Of course, brother. I have a box full of bits to wolf them up!@Huggtand. Thanks for the batreps. Nice to see how a full force fares againts some 40k armies. It is certainly strong, but not OP and actually weak against certain matchups, like GK or horde armies. Cheers!
