How Strong Are TWC At Killteam

Lord Blackwood

Recommended Posts

I have a Killteam event to go to on saturday and I was wondering if we could kick around the viability of Thunder Wolf Cavalry in this mode.

200 points is not a lot to work with , Currently I was thinkin id take 3 TWC bolt Pistol chainsword aka the naked versions and  5 grey hunters  so bring the model count up to 8  to avoid quick break tests.

Is it worth it to  give up on the grey hunters and just run 4 twc instead?

At 200 pointa you can run 5 TWC. I tried that against a Sternguard player. The high toughness was pretty good avoiding break tests in the, but with only 5 models it is a pain to kill 8 of his.

On the other hand, 3 TWC and 5 GH are 190 points, which means you do not have enough for a Plasma anymore. A Flamer is a good option if you face a horde though, so that is a thing.

So yeah, 3 TWC and 5 GH with a Flamer. Not sure how effective it would be but looks like a good list for :cusss'n'giggles.

I generally wouldnt put any special weapons on a bloodclaw except a flamer, due to their BS3

aslo, grey hunters come with a bolter, which in kill team id think would be a much better option  than the tradeoff in points/CC attacks, due to its added range and rapid fire option.

Lone wolves used to be an awesome option in Kill Team - but cant remember if their new loadout options are as viable this edition.

BUt yeah, for TWC id run 2-3 (can we take just 2?) and fill the rest out with grey hunters. Maybe use any leftover points to give the GH true grit?
