One of the best scenes was literally Bobby G turning his Ulraboy blue undies brown from the thought of the Lion having the capacity to destroy Macragge with his fleet.

Think about it, the guy who has 250,000 of the best legionaries in the heresy is scared of the Lion's 30-40,000 Dark Angels in orbit. This speaks volumes about El'Johnson's and the Dark Angels capacity for war.

Oh, that and when we find out that the Lion is Bobby G's Spiritual Liege biggrin.png

And that Both, or maybe all the other primarchs are scared of Curze. As you should be also.

Well, the Lion wasnt "Scared" per-se but he did have a healthy respect for Curze because he blocked off the spaces Curze was in and went in to hunt him by himself to spare his sons lives.

Personally, I think Gav Thorpe's writing has improved over the years.  That having been said, much of what he writes is hit-and-miss for me.  He seems to be quite good at conceptualizing ideas for novels... but his execution leaves something to be desired.  More specifically, there doesn't seem to be much consideration given as to whether the depiction of a theme makes sense given the context of the character or the situation.  As a result, a lot of what is shown on-page comes off as happening "because".

Ravenwing was full of that sort of thing, as was The Lion.  Master of Sanctity suffered less so in that regard, but still had problems.

It is what it is.  We can joke around about Abnett or Dembski-Bowden to come to the rescue, but the fact of the matter is that they don't really have much interest in doing so.  A D-B has offered his reasons why already - on this forum, in fact.  On top of that, he's also expressed a lack of interest in Heresy writing for the time being, and seems to be more focused on the Black Legion.  Abnett has stated that he's going to write a Horus Heresy novel focusing on the Dreadwing, but I sincerely it will go beyond that.  The man is absolutely swamped with commitments, including two Gaunt's Ghosts books and the second book in the Eisenhorn vs. Ravenor trilogy.  In fact, with Thorpe free to write Dark Angels and apparently wanting to do so, I wouldn't be surprised if Abnett bowed out from his Dreadwing project.

Initial nugget information suggests that there are six wings in Dark Angels and Ravenwing and Deathwing did not exist in heresy. This information was on Games Day 2013. And then Unremembered Empire came with Deathwing with two crossed swords. Maybe that broken blade of Deathwing did not exist yet, you mean? Such interpretation.

But Ravenwing was mentioned in Descent of Angels which was well before Games Day 2013... and before the introduction of the Legion to Calaban.

To be fair, Chapter Master Belath references the Calibanite Order of the Ravenwing, and not "Ravenwing" in the same context as Deathwing, Dreadwing, Stormwing, etc.
