Zembar
So, the advent calendar is up: http://www.blacklibrary.com/Home/advent-calendar-2014.html Looks like the 23rd could be a good day for the GK.. I'm thinking "Dataslate: Sorry, We Were Just Kidding About Codex Purgators and Paladins" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299884-advent-calendar/ Share on other sites
Rurik the blessed
Great!!, but what is the 24th symbol? maybe Inquisition? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299884-advent-calendar/#findComment-3876317 Share on other sites
Deamon Wolf
Ordo Hereticus is the Spider quite like the Inquisition so that will be fun Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299884-advent-calendar/#findComment-3876321 Share on other sites
SonofTitan117
Im excited to see what the 23rd will bring. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299884-advent-calendar/#findComment-3876448 Share on other sites
Captain Coolpants
Probably a short story on a character... It's gonna be something usless Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299884-advent-calendar/#findComment-3876548 Share on other sites
Reclusiarch Darius
I very much doubt we'll get new rules. They had ample oppertunity after our dataslate dropped to add cool formations or new units. Neither happened so I think they have moved on. A new short story would be cool. Maybe Stern or Crowe. Rurik the blessed
It's strange i don't think it will be just a story or a book, because if you notice, they are two sections, one for GW and another for Black Library, both have something on 23th... but i have not too much hope. Reclusiarch Darius
Like I said, don't get your hopes up. Short story, maybe a formation if we're extremely lucky. Sothalor
Hmm... I wonder if it'll be another Draigo short. The last one that showed up for BL's Advent event had him wandering through the Warp towards what was implied to be the Warhammer Fantasy world. And then in the End Times: Khaine supplement, there's supposedly a Wood Elf who launches a rescue mission into Nurgle's domain and picks up a couple of party members in the Warp - one of whom is a silver-clad knight whose "speech is strange," is described as "being beyond the power of the daemons," has made many enemies for himself since he was cursed to wander the Warp, and fights daemons by waving his hand at them and making them burst in little explosions. That certainly sounds like our wayward Supreme Grand Master. I wonder if we'll see anything expanding on that. Adeptus
I certainly hope not. I like to think of WHFB and 40K as distinct from each other. I like the little homages to 40K in WHFB, but I wouldn't want them to be officially linked. Reclusiarch Darius
Well he's probably run out of storm bolter rounds by now, so he's back to 'Purge Soul' and Titansword. I certainly hope not. I like to think of WHFB and 40K as distinct from each other. I like the little homages to 40K in WHFB, but I wouldn't want them to be officially linked. They're part of the same universe dude. I don't think they've ever given the WHFB planet a name, but the warp is exactly the same and intentionally so. WHFB came first though, hence why their rules for psykers/Wizards are different etc (also its a different setting, tech level wise). They declared them to be separate entities many many moons ago. They still throw in the odd homage, like the rewards from the Albion campaign, but they're their own thing. SonofTitan117
I always rather liked the idea that they were apart of the same universe. In a tongue in cheek manner of course. Captain Coolpants
Surely it should have said a "ogre sized knight", since ya know... He's a Space Marine in terminator armour. But I always liked the idea of the universes being linked! I found it cool how chaos has always been a constant, and as civilisations spread throughout the galaxy, the strength of chaos has also grown (which is why they're so very scary in the 40k universe) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299884-advent-calendar/#findComment-3877052 Share on other sites
Sothalor
It does describe him as a "giant of a man," so there's that. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299884-advent-calendar/#findComment-3877082 Share on other sites
Saul Invictus
Looks like a story and a dataslate, fingers crossed for Ghost Knights? Everon
They will probably make our event be that the bro champ is back on webstore since he was pulled 5 months ago Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299884-advent-calendar/#findComment-3877603 Share on other sites
Reclusiarch Darius
Nah, not any more. They declared them to be separate entities many many moons ago. They still throw in the odd homage, like the rewards from the Albion campaign, but they're their own thing. They're seperate franchises, but they occur in the same fictional universe. They have to. The exact same Daemon champions exist across both franchises, same Chaos Gods etc. Even the origins lore is from the same place (Old Ones re-shaping world to their purposes, leaving vassal races to oversee development, dying in a great psychic cataclysm etc). They will probably make our event be that the bro champ is back on webstore since he was pulled 5 months ago You mean the old metal Justicar ;) ? Maybe they're doing a re-sculpt. Captain Coolpants
A resculpt would be cool. Just seemed kinda cheap for them to just keep the same model. (also meant I had like 5 Bro champs). But it's also pointless. Because although better.... They still suck Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299884-advent-calendar/#findComment-3878196 Share on other sites

Reclusiarch Darius
Ok, according to a link on natfka, the GK release is "Datacards: Grey Knights" Really, GW? Are we playing Warmachine now? I mean, I like and use the psychic cards, they are a great gaming tool. But this is just getting stupid.
