NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I CANT USE A PRIMUS MEDICAE AS A COMPULSORY HQ!!!!

Ughhhh Time to rethink a bunch of my list ideas....

The rest of the Changes are nice. The nerf to Plasma Moritats was needed, tbh.

Interesting changes, but more interesting is this bit of info:

(see the forthcoming Age of Darkness rules download and our most recently published Horus Heresy books)

I wonder what it will be, maybe they'll make the Age of Darkness Force Organization Charts free to download and use for 40k armies or something

There are supposed to be changes to some of the army list things in the crusade army list compared with the original 3 books. Hopefully it will be the differences as I'm not paying for the Crusade army list and currently stuck with the original lists

e: Looks like Kyr Vhalen got a nice buff. Also Forgeworld's editing team did a really great job on the command tank clarification... it still makes no sense and is entirely cryptic. We're still left wondering if they nerfed the thing or just added an additional buff to it.

So nothing about Jetbikes changing the armour save of rider. Was that a think introduced in the Crusade list or did I imagine it?

It's in the little red books. Jetbikes give you a 2+.

I'm just happy Mortis dreads/contemptors are good again!

It's not really any different, they're still not as good as they were in 6th.  In 6th, you could remain stationary in your movement phase and fire at a ground target at full BS in your shooting phase, and still have interceptor/skyfire for their reserves.  Pre-FAQ with 7th ed rules, you had to choose whether to wiggle the model on the table ("movement") to deactivate the Helical Targeting Array so you could shoot at something on the ground, or stay stationary so you can provide air cover.  The only difference now is that you can just announce whether or not you're using it instead of moving the model a millimeter to the side so you count as moving.  Zero change.

Except if you get immobilised, pre faq you were rendered useless against most things.

Certainly is one aspect that I hadn't considered, but in the current meta of killing things via hull point stripping, you usually don't have time to accumulate a lot of damage table results.  So, minor change for immobilized dreads - otherwise, Mortis remains significantly nerfed from its heyday.

Amen to that, and I just asked for a third Apoth to be purchased for general festivities... I had planned to make him a Primus.

Mind you, we still aren't suffering for lack of HQ choices. Just means we can't have the Medic lead the party.

Grav guns are pretty prevalent in my area, auto immobilised on a six is pretty lame.

Heh, best/worst part about this? I might end up changing Legion choices out of this. Primus Medicae + Lightning Claw on a Jetbike (sort of going for a similar mad doctor look) was my idea at first, going Night Lords. Now that he's not going to be the focus in most games, well, plans arre starting to form to go with one fast force or the other...

Or Iron Hands. They're pretty much unchanged so far bar maybe the Master of the Signal.
