Atia
Shade Lord Arkhas Fal former Master of the XIX Legion, Captain of the Nicor, traitors' bane Arkhas Fal was the Terran-born Master of the XIX Legion before they were united with their long-lost Primarch on the world of Deliverance. Once given command of his Legion, Corax began to impose the style of war he had perfected upon Lycaeus over that which had defined the XIX Legion of old, particularly by purging the more cold-blooded ways of the Terran Xeric tribes which had once defined the Legion culture. The Legion had so often served in oppression, repression and occupation forces that Corax saw in some of the Terran members of his Legion something akin to the slavers of Lycaeus. Several of the Legion's highest ranking officers were displaced or reassigned to non-command roles, including Shade Lord Arkhas Fal, who had commanded the XIX Legion for three decades before the coming of the Raven Lord. A small number of mostly Terrans of the Legion of old, had been assigned to many of these posts beyond the fringes of the Imperium, some in independent nomad fleets, other attached to various Rogue Traders Militum or other so-called "lone wolves". One of these fleets was in fact commanded by the Legion's former commanding officer -- Shade Lord Arkhas Fal -- on the direct order of the Primarch when Corax took over the Raven Guard. Re-entering Imperial Space at the Realm of Ultramar during the 3rd year of the Horus Heresy, Fal and his man were confronted by the news of Istvaan and Calth - and swear their allegiance to Roboute Guilliman and his Imperium Secundus. http://img5.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/lordarkhasfalxgm794h2ti.jpg "My brethren ... i need to share a dark truth with you ... Horus, our paragon and former teacher has betrayed the Imperium of Mankind. For all we know, Terra may be fallen and the Emperor and our so called 'father' Corax may be dead. We are not the magnificent angels, as these are the sons of Sanguinius, nor are we Guillimans' eager apprentices or the proud knights of Caliban ... but we will never be slaves of Horus' madness! We will be Terras' avengers, and like the Xeric shark of old, we will hunt that traitorous bastards and let them bleed ... for Terra and for the Emperor!" - Shade Lord Arkhas Fal http://img5.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/lordarkhasfaly9x1fb65il.jpg http://img5.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/lordarkhasfalp6zcr18v9a.jpg Note: This suit of Terminator armour shares many similarities with early Indomitus armour produced on the Forge World of Testudas, designed to be an dedicated assault variant. Arkhas Fal gained a prototype of this Tactical Dreadnought Armour after the compliance of 27-13, as a gift from the Testudas-Mechanicum, but because of material straits and the outbreaking Heresy (and Testudas' extermination in the 3rd year of war) only a handful of suits, around 500, were ever manufactured and used by the Legiones Astartes. http://img5.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/lordarkhasfalesmtvp40nq.jpg http://img5.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/lordarkhasfal2fdenu7bix.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299909-march-of-the-legions-xix-legion/page/6/#findComment-3888213 Share on other sites

Atia
@Atia: Is that actually what happened to Shade Lord Fal? WLK The last part with Guilliman is my own fluff =) we need more 'bad boys' on the loyalist side of life (and inside the Imperium Secundus ... also Corax didn't order the nomad fleets back to deliverence, so this guys are the mirror coin of the XIX legion at the other side of the ruin storm :>) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299909-march-of-the-legions-xix-legion/page/6/#findComment-3888233 Share on other sites
Jarl Kjaran Coldheart
Damn.I agree with what you said, and wished it were true. A significant part of my planned RG would be nomad fleets returning home. I had hope this was real, because it would be good for the loyalists to get somebody dirty, and the RG need every body it can get. Atia
It's the HH ;) You can do whatever you want, it's the time of legends and myths and deleted records :P. If you want to do homecoming Terrans, do it. If you want some loyal Night Lords or Zombie Traitor Iron Hands, do it. With Conquest, FW gives us some other ideas, like a traitor SW Company or loyal Dusk Raiders :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299909-march-of-the-legions-xix-legion/page/6/#findComment-3888268 Share on other sites

Brother-Chaplain Kage
My entry has gone through some changes since the first pic. The idea still wasn't completely solidified in my head, so I changed out the torso for a different MkIV and did some things with the axe that didn't work out, and here's how he was a couple days ago: http://i.imgur.com/QfQbr5y.png And right now: http://i.imgur.com/GVSvflM.png There's still a few things left to do, but he's getting close to being finished. Holy crap, Slipstreams! I think that was the fastest like I ever got for a post(like 3 seconds?!). Adra'Melek
BCK, the head on look on the helmet looks a little weird but I think that's just the way the light's hitting it. Overall it's looks pretty darn awesome. Brother-Chaplain Kage
It's pretty close to symmetrical and I spent a good while getting it that way, but I think it's the lighting. Maybe desaturation and playing with the settings will help. http://i.imgur.com/xjO15EZ.png Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299909-march-of-the-legions-xix-legion/page/6/#findComment-3889124 Share on other sites
Adra'Melek
It's definitely the lighting. To me the central one doesn't look like the side ones. It's the shadow on the right (his) of his beak. Brother-Chaplain Kage
I'm thinking of changing it anyway. After a day, I'm finding I'm not so fond of the skeletal beak look. The wings Im hoping to be dark with a silver/light gray highlight - ala Black Swan/Hunger Games. apologist
At the risk of sounding facetious, try to think of it as a very, very dark hue, rather than 'black'. This really helps you decide on colours for highlighting, and leaves you some tonal 'space' to shade it with pure black. For example, if you decide to do a blue-black, you can use various tints of blue to add sparing highlights. If you do a green-black, use tints of green – and so forth. If you want a true neutral black, think of it as very dark grey. Of course, I haven't got my Raven Guard legionary painted yet, so I'd better put my brush where my advice is! :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299909-march-of-the-legions-xix-legion/page/6/#findComment-3890751 Share on other sites
