Draigo in Fantasy?

Slave to Darkness

I much prefer this than the idea that Draigo fell to Slaanesh, it also lets me continue to believe that Sigmar is Alpharius' other brother. Alpha, Sigma, Omega. If Draigo can get to Fantasy land, so can a Primarch.

I just hope we don't see End Times: Grey Knights...

The Elves slowly and painfully uniting as one race again...only they're doomed anyway because Chaos.

I tried getting into it, but it's really only for fans of the faction. I'm keen for the Lizardmen book, whenever that is (Skaven are next).

but it's really only for fans of the faction

There's much rage about it in elven circles actually.

Except Dark Elves of course, since they got to have their cake, eat it, and have their way with the waitress while her boyfriend watches.

On topic, I dislike Draigo and dislike Fantasy becoming more similar to 40,000, so I dislike this info tidbit on principle.

What if the 40k and the fantasy universes are separate but there is a way to cross over hidden somewhere in the warp? Like a wormhole in the warp that travels to a parallel version of the warp.

That's pretty much what it was before GW stated that both settings were not connected. The fan theory that Sigmar was one of the lost Prinarchs goes back decades, and Chaos units being the same for WHFB and 40k has always shone the Warp being the same in both settings. The old fiction had the Slaan as the architects of the Warp (or at least the engineers that maintained and crafted the Warp) in both settings, as well.

Frankly, seeng the Silver Knight as Draigo is just fun homage to us Gray Beards.

"I see an old world beyond the next

horizon – a world that likely never was,
where sorcery blew in the very winds
and a self-made god-king was all that
stood against the Ruinous Powers."

By the Dark Gods. It's happening.

That ebook has been out for a while now. I'm surprised more haven't read it.

To be honest i hate him being in 40k, he's a total fluff spoiler, i mean it took a pile of our best to take out angron but Draigo simply waddles over to Mortarion and carves the extremely long name of the Ex SGM into his heart? No. just. NO. Go away Draigo, you've done your best to ruin GK's for everyone and in quite alot of gaming groups make us into a "fan boy" army, dont bother sticking your fluff armored nose into fantasy too.

He then went to tear out his heart and carve a extremely long name into it, totally unaided by anyone else and totally undisturbed and unmolested by the hordes of followers the demon primarch had with him, na just na, draigos a :cuss, his fluff is terrible, and senseless, if you actually look into the timeline aswel there's so many errors, id rather just pretend he doesn't exist

...I don't see any problems with what you wrote though? I mean the most powerful dude of a group of dudes famous for kicking demon butt...kicked demon butt...?

Edit: Or is that something only Maugan Ra should be able to do?

So you think its totally legit that he smashes though 10 thousand year old Death Guard Terms, shoulder bashes a primarch and spends about 5 mins carving a name into his heart without anyone trying to stop him? Someones been spending to much time with Matt Ward

P.S what does Maugan Ra have to do with it?

Smashes through chaos termites? Yeah, of course. Older != faster, stronger or more skilled, and D is quite literally superior on the genetic level. And has a sword that blows up your soul.

Shoulder bashes a Primarch? Duh. Draigo kicked him right in the Truename. It'd be dumb if it hadn't worked.

Wrote on him? Again, don't see a problem. Morty was helpless, but he couldn't be killed, might as well leave a mark. And its not like Draigo was there alone. People were fighting this way and that.

Maugan is ALSO known for hanging out in the warp and doing 'impossible' things, but people don't get butthurt about it because...something. I dunno.

MATT WARD! Am I doing it right? Warseer echo chamber is hard for me to mimic.

Surely there older you know being 10k years old and that :P ?

I take it you saw i player Eldar on my profile and thats where this is all coming from? :P

Na man i suppose your entitled to your own opinion, i just think Draigo is the spawn of Ward watching too much Samurai Jack and finally accepting he cant bring  Guilliman back, i mean even the background doesn't add up, its as if ward was just an excited kid with pencil AND THEN DRAIGO DID THIS AND THIS AND THIS. But like i said, your more than entitled to your opinion and i dont want to bore the thread with my many reasons why dragio makes no sense, also i dont want RD having to lock another thread down due to us arguing about nothingness haha so lets just agree to disagree

Once you factor in all that fine ass Warp Dust, Draigo starts to make a lot more sense.

Also, the whole "carving his master's name into Mortorian's heart" seems more of an homage to Zoro than the Breakfast Club. A simple arcane symbol inscribed with a swish and flick is more reasonable than High Gothic from an 8' long knife. Just say'n.

Remember, the names of Grey Knights have the weight of Truenames, much as is the case with the daemonic. Kaldor Draigo is a name of power, selected for its power from the List of Names. The man that is Draigo was not born with that name, nor reborn as a Marine with that name. He was christened Kaldor Draigo as yet another weapon in his arsenal when his deeds marked him out as an individual of renowned. His birth name is his Truename, while Draigo is his mantle of power against the Rising Tide.

It's always incredibly entertaining when a term like "wrote his name on his heart" is taken literally. Especially in a situation like Draigo's where it's quite obvious Matt Ward did not understand the metaphor.

It's much the same as a statement that "Logan Grimnar carved his name into Khorne's heart."

Khorne hates Logan on a level beyond his hatred for anyother mortal. He has made several legions whose sole purpose is to kill Logan Grimnar and bring Khorne his skull. A term like "carved his name into his heart" would be entirely applicable here because of the level of obsession the one individual has for another because of their actions. But Matt Ward never displayed a high level of figurative skill which played a large part in his inability to produce passable fluff.

I think it was more the case of Daemon Primarchs being another step up from the usual level of Warp-y chaff. But Mortarion's Heart gives a decent explanation as to how it actually happened, so who the balls cares?

On the original topic - that is cool as :cuss. I've often been a fan of the idea that Fantasy is the far future of the far future (... I'm an idiot), so the Warp's time shuffling stuff makes sense of it for me.
