Sister Rosette Soulknyt
So, my mate gets me a Fire Raptor for payment to paint his Eldar army (year nice of him huh), he buys it from Ebay, the place we all love, but didn't count in that it didnt have the instruction manual included. So i have the whole kit on my desk and no idea were to start. Does anyone have the instruction assembly PDF that they could share please. Thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300038-fire-raptor-assembly-instructions/ Share on other sites
Leonaides
email FW themselves - they'll probably send you a copy (maybe just say that your buddy who bought it for you as a present - so you dont know the order numbers or anything - lost it). If you dont get any help from them, or no-one else can send it to you PM me on sunday and i'll take mine into work and scan it for you. Jeff Newton
When you are building the fuselage the 2 side panels and the bottom make sure before glueing that the plastic cockpit piece fits in. This was the hardest part for me to get correct. Also the inside walls don't fill the entire space given for them. Don't assemble the ball turrets in you plan on painting inside of them. And the piece on the back of them so the pivot up and down can use with a second brace. I had to add plasticard under the landing gear housings to fill in the huge gap I had there. And to save a decent amount of weight I used a drill press and put 1/2" holes down the middle of the engines. I then used brass rod to pin them to the fuselage in 3 places. Sister Rosette Soulknyt
Thanks for these and the replies, i have had to re-straiten several peices, including one of the sides, not fun. So far, so good, now onto the painting and will post pics soon Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300038-fire-raptor-assembly-instructions/#findComment-3882855 Share on other sites
ninjasuperspy
Thanks for posting those instructions. I picked up a secondhand Fire Raptor the other day and I've got a long night of resin straightening and green stuff gap filling ahead of me. Sister Rosette Soulknyt
Sounds like what i went through recently. Now the question is: do i go with the Auto cannons, or the heavy bolters??? Kilofix
The math works out better for Autocannons against MEQ and up. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300038-fire-raptor-assembly-instructions/#findComment-3884201 Share on other sites

If there are parts that are not straight use a hair straight iron (it's easier than boiling water). Otherwise just call FW, they're very helpful with replacements if you can wait. Make sure you scrub the resin. Make sure you cut away all the resin gates. Not all of them are called out in the instructions. Jeff Newton
Take your time and dry fit everything. Also make sure you have rubber bands on hand for when you glue the fusalage together. Landrick
what glue do y'all use for resin? i typically use loctite gel control, but it doesn't seem to hold up, the first thing i glued came apart. I did scrub with soap beforehand Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300038-fire-raptor-assembly-instructions/#findComment-3945595 Share on other sites
Kilofix
Regular super glue seems to work for me. I don't over apply though. And I have rubber bands and or vices to hold stuff together while it dries. If I need to, I use 2 part epoxy if the gap is larger. And if a part is too heavy I pin (but I didn't find anything heavy enough to require pinning on the FR).
