JessyCaine
Greetings. I am pretty new to 40k. I have some Bloodletters of Khorne. Does a model with the banner have to take the "Banner of Blood" upgrade or can I field that model without the upgrade (eventhough he physically has the banner). This same question applies to the "instrument of Chaos". Can I play the model with the horn in his hand but not take the upgrade? Kilofix
Depends on your locl gaming group and whether they insist on "What You See Is What You Get" (WYSIWYG). Most folks though should be ok if you make it clear that they do or don't have Banners / Instruments before the start of the game. Shubniggurath
I personally put banners and instruments everywhere, because they look cool, but I make sure to tell my opponent that my squad aren't equipped with it. Teetengee
The official what you see is what you get rule no longer exists, so you probably only need to worry about local or tournament rules.Even when it did, it is unclear whether extra upgrades were a problem or just lacking upgrades because of wording.(I.e. all upgrades must be shown on the model doesn't mean the same thing as all non-upgrades must be shown lacking on the model.)
