librisrouge
I'm debating going with Beastmen models armed with lasguns so I'm curious about all of your thoughts on the issue. Plus, does anybody have experience with the ability of Cadian lasgun arms fitting to Gor bodies? WarriorFish
I know nothing of "Gor", but you can have Beastmen conscripts. Aside from the historical precedent what better way for mutants to prove their faith than by picking up arms to fight and die for the Emperor? ;) A canny commander could make use of such troops, he just might need to be careful who sees :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300091-beastmen-conscripts/#findComment-3881377 Share on other sites
Kierdale
I've used Ungors and I thoroughly recommend the kit. Lots of arm poses. I didn't use Cadian arms but instead removed the human arms from the lasguns and used (mainly) the bow/arrow arms (often with CCW right hands replacing open right hands) to get aiming poses. Damnatio Ad BestiasPerhaps not everyone's cup of tea, but here's my penal squad, lead by father William (Arbite-sanctioned to lead the squad of penitent mutants, as shown by the scales on his purity seal).http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8353/8304139038_09a827b08d.jpgFather William himself.Robes and colours inspired by a priest image in Dark Heresy. Though he has the most prominent Aquila (hanging from his armour, in addition to the one on the front of his hammer-lectern), some of the ungors also have very small etched brass Aquila icons.http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8071/8304138920_05b0f6cfbf.jpghttp://farm9.staticflickr.com/8500/8304138818_3d354d95e3.jpghttp://farm9.staticflickr.com/8355/8303085409_3090c76ec3.jpghttp://farm9.staticflickr.com/8354/8303085171_9186de02eb.jpgOne of my favourites.http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8075/8304138648_5b280ec2dd.jpghttp://farm9.staticflickr.com/8220/8304138548_c959c59422.jpgThe barcode on his left upper arm looks a bit uneven there but it's not so bad IRL.All of the beastmen homo sapiens variatus have bombs surgically implanted into their spines. scatmandoo
Sounds a great idea, and i believe they even did a special feature in a white dwarf on one when the new codex or edition got released. librisrouge
Thanks for the feedback, especially Kierdale (wow), and I'll definitely be considering this. I've wanted to do the infantry horde (alla Red Army style) since getting into 40k and I think that the current conscripts and priests make it possible. Now if only they'd give me Chenkov back!
