DIY decals - getting the most out of your sheets

So I built a vector image of my chapter symbol. Do you guys know how to get lots of them in the right size on an A4 decal sheet? I figured 5mm height for PA, 6mm for normal TDA pads and 3mm for those pads (2, 4, 6, 7) should fit.

I have Inkscape and GIMP on my computer.

If there are any other tips for making your own decals with an inkjet printer, I'd be happy if you'd share them, as I have not done this before.

Here's an A5 Template. You could just open it up in Inkscape and take a few measurements if you are not sure about the sizes.

In any case I'd print your icon out on paper first in different sizes and try what looks right though, just to be sure before you commit any of your decal paper to it.

For tips in general this might help. BOLS also has a tutorial that is a bit more compressed than the ye olde decal project.
