BrotherCaptainArkhan
Greetings... If you're not Disease, please click the spoiler tag below and give me your thoughts on the following... Whilst participating in the Secret Santa for our gaming group, we both decided to do a similar-ish idea for each other's Survivors of Istvaan warbands under the Killzone: Survivors ruleset. Basically, we each do a miniature from any Legion - Traitor or Loyalist - that has to either fit into the other guy's warband, or be the start of a new one.I chose to build Torvald Brokk, Rampager of the World Eaters Legion, lost from his brothers in the chaos of the massacre at the Urgall Depression and finding temporary secondment in the ranks of the Death Guard as they pursue fleeing Raven Guard elements from the Depression. Lost to the Nails during the slaughter of the Iron Hands Morlock companies, Brokk slew most of his own squad, failing to distinguish them from the true enemy. Knowing now that to return to his own Legion means a death sentence - whether amidst the ranks of the Red Butchers or at the hands of his officers - Brokk has fled into the wastes of Istvaan, finding temporary brotherhood with packs of other Legionaries hunting the evasive Loyalist remnants across the ash dunes. Final basing is to be left to Disease to match him with the rest of his warband. However, I think he'll work best standing atop the shattered carcass of a Raven Guard (or another loyalist). I've included one pic of him astride a base to show that there's roughly enough room to fit a Marine's torso beneath his boot. In case it wasn't obvious, he's very much supposed to be in the final stages of becoming lost to the Nails - hence the pose atop a Loyalist carcass, roaring in atavistic fury to the skies. Any comments or criticism welcome, it's likely that I'll get him to Disease sometime next week. Lysimachus
Looks excellent mate! Nice combo of armour Mks, great pose. Only thing I might suggest would be to angle the wrist on the chainsword arm outwards slightly so it's not pointed quite so straight up? Very nitpicky though, it'll make an amazing gift regardless! BrotherCaptainArkhan
Good shout, but I'll probably leave as-is - I'm delivering it to Disease unpainted so he'll be able to alter it as he sees fit if he doesn't like it. Glad you picked up on the mix of armour marks, I figured the WE would have really haphazard, sometimes barely functional armour given their approach to warfare. MagicMan
I think he looks great, mate! Any chance of seeing him with a screaming, bare head? Or is the Helm glued on? BrotherCaptainArkhan
Cheers lads! It is, but very easy to pry off - such a thing would look cool but I suspect he'll have a better supply of that particular bit than I will. There's a lot of "derpface" screaming heads around too, so probably best to leave it to his discretion!
