New BA as allies

Okay, more details are coming now.

I'm thinking an allied detachment with:

Library Dread in a pod as HQ

Scout squad with camo and a locator beacon as a Troop

Drop Pod as FA

Infiltrate the scout for our deep strikes, put our purifiers in the FA pod.

This is going to be great. If only we could do it without allies...

The current BA Sang Priests don't receive their FNP from the Exsanguinator (which i think is going to be called a standard narthecium in 7th). Instead, they receive FNP from their Blood Chalice which is more inspirational than medical and why it has an effective radius rather than just benefiting the squad as the exsanguinator/narthecium would. With that, the Blood Chalice only affects Blood Angels and their successors. It might change in 7th but i wouldn't count on it.

It would be good if the exsanguinator/narthecium could be used for allies which only affects the attached squad and the chalice benefits BA squads in a radius, but thats probably the wrong thread, nay forum, for wishlisting the new BA codex :D

If you want better defence than i would suggest either the Ministorum Priest from AS/AM (cant remember which one) or the PFG off a DA librarian. You can also take some Sanctioned Psykers with the Priests to bolter your warp charges and cast random powers on your squads if your libby cant keep up, the down side is they cant deep strike.

I'm not that keen TBH. Their Dreads have been nerfed into the ground (plus Hull Points factored in). Mephiston is at least an IC now, so you can attach him to our Terminators and land him Turn 1 to scare the hell out of opponents (he's insanely OP now). Assault Marines are no longer Troops sad.png but Tacticals can take a heavy flamer now to be almost as good as Strikes.

edit: Baal Preds are now Heavy. Derpaderp

Libby dreads are indeed HQ, as it says in the list in my first post :)

My idea for that detachment is just to give us some stuff we don't have, such as drop pods and locator beacons. We could also get some good grav/plasma firepower through a tac and/or dev squad.

Not really. I'd be taking min Tacs with a heavy flamer and pod, just to fill mandatory Troops. Devastators are bad, don't do that.

We'll see what makes me go "Ooh! I'd like one of those for my GKs!" when I have the codex in my own hands. For now it's libby dreads, scouts, and drop pods. Dante would require one more troop choice, but that would also open up more pods/other slots.

If Corbulo transfers to battle bros, he could added to the Draigo+Grav-Centstar combo. FNP on top of Draigo's storm shield is crazy durable.

I don't see much else to get excited about. Honestly, SW look like better Allies.

Mephiston doesn't have a jump pack :( so no hanging with Terminators for Turn 1 delivery. He'll have to ride a Pod down like a sucker with the Tacs or Purifiers.

But I don't like SW.. I think they look boring. Also, their scouts are elites, so I'd need their other troops or bring heaps of their elites to get a pod.

And my purifiers want that pod...

Ive not my hands on it yet, but the Angel's Wing jump pack could be useful with the Nemesis Strikeforce Detachment. Grav weaponry i heard is a thing. Not sure how their furious charge or whatever that gives them +1I & +1S works, hopefully it will transfer.

I cant wait till the weekend!

All Blood Angel units have Furious Charge.  The +1 initiative on the charge comes from the BA detachment, so won't transfer if you use them as allies.  If you take a full BA detachment as a secondary that would work.
