Snap Shots and Bombs

Hi everyone,

can I drop bombs from flyer if it is forced to fire snap shots?

Bombs are counted as firing one weapon in the shooting phase, but are dropped in movement and no BS is deducted from scatter distance...

"Some weapon types, such as Template and Ordnance, or those that have certain special rules, such as Blast, cannot be fired as Snap Shots. In addition, any shooting attack that does not use Ballistic Skill cannot be ‘fired’ as a Snap Shot"

 

I cannot say with 100% certainty but I do not know of any bombs that do not also have a Blast rule.  That's a lot of negatives all strung together but the bottom line is, no Snap Shots with bombs since they are also Blast weapons.  

 

Also, they do not use Ballistic Skill (not even to reduce scatter) so cannot be ‘fired’ as a Snap Shot.  That part is pretty cut and dry.

Interestingly, Chaos Hell Talon has Bombs that are NOT Blast and can ONLY be fired Snapshot.

Of course. There is an exception for everything. Except when there is not. But even then sometimes there are.

Thanks for help, it looks like there is more rules that say that bombs cannot be dropped while being forced to use snap shots.

Happilly die knew it from the start and rolled it that way during the game
