What are your thoughts?

What do you think of the wargear I am thinking of running with?

Should I exchange Khârn for a praetor to save points?

Maybe only a single spartan and let the other squad run behind?

You're going to hate fighting any fliers. Twin Linked isn't fantastic with snap shots.

Also (and this is hypocritical of me, I know) but isn't 4 units of infantry a bit low at 2500 points? Your Rampagers and Jump infantry will get picked to death by anti-infantry and the spartans by Anti Armor is the problem.

I mean, my own list suffers similarly, with two infantry units and two vehicle units... but one's a flier and this is at 1500 points.

EDIT: Also, why a charnabal sabre with the Primus, when you could take a Cadre Weapon or Power Sword/Axe for 5 more points?

I mean, unless you up the points most Heresy Armies are going to play this way.

Sure, the assault marines aren't a Stellar choice because of their Cost.

-He could replace all 20 AM for 40 more Tac/Despoiler Marines (before upgrades).

-He could replace them all for a 10 man Jetbike Squad.

-He could replace them with a Red Butcher Squad in a Land Raider Phobos (might need a few more points for this).

Rampagers are, sadly, meh when compared with Red Butchers in terms of Damage output.

If he took the Rampagers and Assault Marines out, he'd be sitting on ~900 points left to get his list to 2500.

Options to fill out the list would be :

-A 20 Man True-Grit / Despoiler Marine Squad in a Storm Eagle to provide AA. This comes to roughly 550 points Total. Add in a Fire Raptor and bam 780+ points.

-A 10 Man Red Butchers Squad in another Spartan with a Chaplain instead of Primus Medicae. Would come to roughly 800+ point range. Could also swap the Spartan with a Storm Eagle but have the Butcher Squad down to 9 to fit the Chaplain in. Would also bring the total cost down to roughly 700+ points. Other Options are Caestus and Kharybdis

-Two 9 Man Jetbike Squads with 3 Special Weapons depending on points left and such. This would Probably bust the 900 points limit.

-A Contemptor Dreadnought Talon; 3 Dreads. Depending on Gear selections will run 500+ points.

-A Land Raider Battle Squadron of 3 Rand Raider Achilles for 900 points flush.

-A Variety of Lord of War Choices such as: The Glaive, Fellblade, Falchion, Cerberus, Typhon or Knights. Forgot about the Restrictions when Writing this part. Some may fit, others may not.

Thanks for the advice; I had'nt considered some of the units sugested:-)

Yes I will drop the rampagers, I mostly wanted them because caedre weapons look boss.

Red butchers are my favorite terminator models yet, so I like the idea of including them.

What do you think of decreasing the number of assault marines, dropping rampagers, using a praetor instead of Khârn, dropping primus medicae and adding red butchers in a land raider?

Or will this still not solve the too few units problem?

Do you like the idea of a small squad of scouts for taking objectives and acting as another little distraction for the enemy?

Is enemy flyers going to be dangerous enough for me to NEED units that can take them on?

in class right now, can't give a detailed answer but for Flyers, consider that a Fire Raptor can shoot at four different targets.

That only comes into play if your meta/local players use flyers. If you know that nobody will field one, don't bother. But if its a possibility, plan ahead.

While true, also consider that the Fire Raptor is a threat in it's own right, massacering anything without a 2+ save or an Invul save, and being able to shoot at a different target with each weapon it has. In addition, all that lovely strength 7 means that it has a lot of chances to wreck light vehicles. So say, pop a rhino open and destroy the squad inside it. That's a lot of your points back right there, more if it's a 40K Marine Squad and thus most likely upgraded.
