LordOrdGermany
Hi, I am so fascinated by Space Hulk missions that I started this project. My goal is to create 10 of these "mini-dioramas" one can hang on the wall. Eighter I will display them at toy/tabletop conventions or sell it in ebay seperately. I hope you can help me. What would you charge, if you were the creator? I hope you follow my project with my first prototype http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050394.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300373-space-hulk-diorama-for-display-prototype/ Share on other sites

Dark, haunted, gloomy place for sure. Computers sharing their millenias in silence and rust....That is so fascinating for me. At IKEA (a Swedish furniture company famous in Europe at least) you can buy these "mini-box-frames-dioramas" I call them. With our society throwing away so much rubbish I filled my bits box with parts of it waiting to be used. Now finally I use them in order to create the interior of a small portion of a Space Hulk Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300373-space-hulk-diorama-for-display-prototype/#findComment-3888929 Share on other sites

Cain21
Looks like a cool idea, as far as pricing i think it will really depend on the finished product. LordOrdGermany
No wcomes the detailing http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050424.JPGhttp://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050425.JPG For the Genestealer I decided not to include a whole model but to let him appear somewhere "out of nowhere" as it is its nature. I want to do this in all my dioramas which may follow. http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050428.JPGhttp://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050426.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300373-space-hulk-diorama-for-display-prototype/#findComment-3889410 Share on other sites

LordOrdGermany
Yes the next step is limiting the diorama but necessary to cover the light http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050429.JPG A friend of mine and comitted WH 40k huy said that this blind on the right side adds more realsim to the overall image http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050430.JPGhttp://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050431.JPGhttp://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050432.JPGhttp://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050433.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300373-space-hulk-diorama-for-display-prototype/#findComment-3889734 Share on other sites
LordOrdGermany
Now the painting can start finally http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050436.JPGhttp://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050437.JPGhttp://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050438.JPGMeanwhile I re-painted the Genestealer in its typical Space Hulk colours and attached some ornament on my DIY "Sons of Hythis" Terminator Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300373-space-hulk-diorama-for-display-prototype/#findComment-3890541 Share on other sites

Sheesh Mode
I suggest taking the terminator, stripping it, and reposing it. Or using a different model in order to add the illusion of movement ot the terminator. SW1
Yeah ... In a display you want the models off the bases and pinned in place. Other than that good work!!! LordOrdGermany
@Deathspectre Thank you comrade @SheeshMode and SW1 Yes I know the base is being removed in the end of course! My termi will be pinned in place. You see--> I want to create about 10 of these dioramas in the following years (the plan). The next termis I can better integrate into the overall image but this termi here has the honour to be the vanguard of these dioramas Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300373-space-hulk-diorama-for-display-prototype/#findComment-3891793 Share on other sites
LordOrdGermany
Rust / Corrosion http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050441.JPGhttp://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050442.JPG There are several ways to create rust-effects. The way I chose is to mix fine sand meant for pet-bird-cages with mucilage and let it dry completely. The sand is then the part where the rust/corrosion ist worst. http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050443.JPG Layer 1: black http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050444.JPG Layer 2: red/oragne 1:1 http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050445.JPG Layer 3: orange/red 2:1 http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050446.JPG Last step: inking with brown-ink Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300373-space-hulk-diorama-for-display-prototype/#findComment-3892786 Share on other sites

LordOrdGermany
My first prototype is nearly finished http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050449.JPGThis was an idea of a friend of mine and my WH 40 K mentor-->spray the glas of the diorama, too in order to limit the sight of the insode content. I did so and I think it will work in the end . http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050450.JPGhttp://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050451.JPG As for the wood-casing I thought that it might be better to let the electric tea-light untouched by paint not that something goes wrong:-) http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050452.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300373-space-hulk-diorama-for-display-prototype/#findComment-3896148 Share on other sites
