Space Hulk Diorama for display Prototype

Hi,

I am so fascinated by Space Hulk missions that I started this project. My goal is to create 10 of these "mini-dioramas" one can hang on the wall. Eighter I will display them at toy/tabletop conventions or sell it in ebay seperately. I hope you can help me. What would you charge, if you were the creator?

I hope you follow my project with my first prototype

First steps

What does a Space Hulk interior look like? Dark, haunted, gloomy place for sure. Computers sharing their millenias in silence and rust....That is so fascinating for me. At IKEA (a Swedish furniture company famous in Europe at least) you can buy these "mini-box-frames-dioramas" I call them. With our society throwing away so much rubbish I filled my bits box with parts of it waiting to be used. Now finally I use them in order to create the interior of a small portion of a Space Hulk

First I limited the space provided by the box to fit with a WH 40 k miniatrure

For the Genestealer I decided not to include a whole model but to let him appear somewhere "out of nowhere" as it is its nature. I want to do this in all my dioramas which may follow.

Yes the next step is limiting the diorama but necessary to cover the light

A friend of mine and comitted WH 40k huy said that this blind on the right side adds more realsim to the overall image

@Deathspectre

Thank you comrade

@SheeshMode and SW1

Yes I know the base is being removed in the end of course! My termi will be pinned in place. You see--> I want to create about 10 of these dioramas in the following years (the plan). The next termis I can better integrate into the overall image but this termi here has the honour to be the vanguard of these dioramas

Rust / Corrosion

There are several ways to create rust-effects. The way I chose is  to mix fine sand meant for pet-bird-cages with mucilage and let it dry completely. The sand is then the part where the rust/corrosion ist worst.

My first prototype is nearly finished

http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_33080/P1050449.JPGThis was an idea of a friend of mine and my WH 40 K mentor-->spray the glas of the diorama, too in order to limit the sight of the insode content. I did so and I think it will work in the end .

As for the wood-casing I thought that it might be better to let the electric tea-light untouched by paint not that something goes wrong:-)
