Duncain
Alright so I've begun assembly and painting of my army but I'm a little bit torn on which color scheme to use. I've painted up two soldiers and would like your guys imput on which one to use. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/gallery/image/142287-img-20141214-125554-164/ Oh and I painted up this Sentinel today also. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/gallery/image/142288-img-20141213-124706-012/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300443-wip-the-1st-dundaran/ Share on other sites
Marshal Argos
For your Infantry I'd go with the one on the left. (Green Fatigues) IMHO the other one has to much black, and it black fatigues would be really hard to weather or detail at this scale. Diggin the Sentinel. Ya done good here, even the base has lots of details!! WarriorFish
I agree, the left scheme looks better. Also on the Sentinel, it looks very good especially the base - can we have some more pictures and a close up? :tu: Don't forget you can embed pictures inline in your posts by getting the code from the "Options" button in the top right of the gallery page :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300443-wip-the-1st-dundaran/#findComment-3890396 Share on other sites
our_baz
Prefer the lefthand model. Not sure if it is the lightimg but would try and matt down the black armour looks a little shiny. Good start tho look forward to seeing more. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300443-wip-the-1st-dundaran/#findComment-3890431 Share on other sites
scatmandoo
I too like the left model though maybe a green helmet may work? The sentinel looks great though. elmo
Another vote for the left. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300443-wip-the-1st-dundaran/#findComment-3890554 Share on other sites
Pigshead
I vote left too. And I agree the sentinel looks nice. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300443-wip-the-1st-dundaran/#findComment-3890756 Share on other sites
Rayray
My vote is also on the left model. Nice paint job. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300443-wip-the-1st-dundaran/#findComment-3890759 Share on other sites
librisrouge
Excellent Sentinel dude. Congrats. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300443-wip-the-1st-dundaran/#findComment-3890968 Share on other sites
CoffeeGrunt
Good work on the Sentinel, a well-painted chicken mech makes the Emperor proud, and the Colonel hungry! I also vote left. I think the scheme has promise - perhaps a dark shade of blue instead of black? I don't think the black/brown look on the boots quite works, though. I'd do one or the other, brown is more likely to be honest. Duncain
I've painted up a third color scheme and wanted to know of the three which do you all think looks the best. My personal favorite is this one but I do like the look of the green uniform. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/gallery/image/142568-img-20141219-190350-617/ please give me your vote. Thanks! WarriorFish
I like the new one, it looks very Cadian though so if you're doing your own regiment it might be better to go with one of the others. In which case I still prefer the first :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300443-wip-the-1st-dundaran/#findComment-3895939 Share on other sites
elmo
Traditional Cadian scheme - looks good, does not stand out on the tabletop but great if you want to quickly add to your army from pre-painted models on eBay due to the popularity of the scheme. Personally I like mine to be different ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300443-wip-the-1st-dundaran/#findComment-3895980 Share on other sites
Chefzilla
I actually prefer the right hand model. My question is how are you mounting them on the paint bottles? Duncain
I use some Elmer's brand Tac 'N Stik reusable adhesive a ball of that stuff about the size of two peas and it'll hold your model on there so you can paint at all angles and it gives a purpose to all those empty paint pots I've got around. Kind o like a servo skull even in death duty does not end!
